Why ??? What about Malaysia or Thailand.. They were too 3rd world.. But look how these countries look now..

these countries were not cursed with the Tamil separatism virus... anywhere there is a sizable Tamil population, there will be no peace. They will want a peace of that land stating 'historic' or ancestral' or even 'tradional' rights.

Sorry, but that is the bitter truth. You cannot live in peace. You want to draw lines along every possible difference.

You mean watching that SBS program has not helped you have the experience like an Aborigine - especially one in custody who is listed as a mentally ill person when the white authorities do not understand

are you equating the plight of first Australians to your tribal pursuits?

Tamils and Muslims went to or Sri Lanka was a part of Indian continent before Bengale 'convicts' or some say, rejects landed.

In most of the countries the landed immigrants (or convicts) deny the basic rights to the natives.

Because history has always been writen by the 'winners, it's better to be pragmatic and deal with the present problems

Again I repeat, I have no connection with the SL education or social system !!

Then you have no right to talk about Sri Lanka. THis is not yours to get involved in.

I lived in Ilankai only for 4 years !! So Im not part of your so called educational system !! Noooo thanks !! And I thanks God everyday to have saved my life !!

Thank God indeed... had you been here, you would have been dead by now in some trench line in the Vanni or languishing in prison for crimes against the state.

Mr. Rudd may have had an ulterior motive to do that when he apologized to the Natives.

To a degree - may be. But Mr. Rudd is also more genuine about democracy than his predecessor.

In a way they had to as they literally stole the land from the Aboriginals.

You contradict yourself.

But the case is different in SL. Both our people lived here more or less at the same time and both were equally to blame for the resent troubles.

Agree for teh troubles we do not understand. For the troubles we do understand the reason why - the answer is certainly against Sinhalese in government.

Gaja, I fail to understand what your point is? Aborigines are scared of white authority because of what happened to their previous generations and the stories that have been passed on... In custody, the aborigines would rather hurt themselves, than be held in captivity... To the white authorities, this type of fear and mentality is seen as 'mental illness'... it's very unfortunate...

but what's your point?

I can't follow your arguement. Tamils don't have a country of their own! It's a known fact, so i don't get why some dumbies keep referring to 'eelam' as a country... because it doesn't exist. Tamils can live anywhere they want to, but they don't have their own country. The closest place they have to a 'tamil country' is Tamil nadu, which is the tamil homeland. You can't argue with that.

thanks to british rule. we were able to steal tamils land as well

Once SLA completes capturing North, these nonsense will be over. No more online lessons on history, separation, democracy.
