for a small population of 20 million the need for three languages is ridiculous
Sri Lanka is a poor and underdevelopped because its 'leading' population is really undevelopped and badly educated.
Switzerland which has a population of 7 millions, has four officials languages and force its students to learn at least 3 languages (english + 2 national languages) !!
Tell who is ridiculous !! Tell who is far more advanced, you or Switzerland ????
Sri Lankans are stupid people despite some are very intelligent.
Even of the 20% a majority is fluent in Sinhalese.

The language - Sinhala Only - is the most divisive of all.
Canada has TWO Official languages and is propsperous
A tiny S'pore has 4 Official languages and is the richest among the developing countries.

why does someone always has to remind you guys in every thread that we are not against tamils. we are against the terrorism n the LTTE?
Until you have the tools of separation - they are one and the same for you. Hence Tamils are checked more than Sinhalese.
You see, in the past you have needed Tamils to develop those tools of separation / merit based administration. That is why you are now stagnating.
You needed us to fight - more than we needed it.
