In other Buddhist countries the monks preach peace and march for democracy but in Sri Lanka most monks preach hate and march to deny democratic rights to minorities and thereby arouse communal riots to kill and destroy.

Saleemtariq nana,

NO Democratic rights eh?
It's Velu who denied the democratic rights to the Tamils.
No, not buddhist monks.
Remeber the last presidential election..

This is also the route through which the inmates of Yoga Swami Asram at Vannerikkulam were taken. So long as their faith is with the Tamils - the Sinhalese would not be able to achieve a lasting military victory in Killinochchi which is Yoga Swami area

What if Yoga Swami Asram prefers the original land owner?

Yes, Velu is one side of extremism with MR on the other side.
Mind you VP's Eelam is the reaction to MR's (or previous leaders) Unitarism.

Most Sinhala Buddhist monks are fundamentalists who do not want equal rights to minorities which is ant-Buddhist. Dalai Lama's Buddhism is peace loving and conciliatory.

Minorities want the right to self-determination which is the bed rock of democracy, and is granted automatically in many civilised countries.

Randu,

What if Yoga Swami Asram prefers the original land owner?

Who is the Yoga Swami Ashram? When that person at the highest level or all those who make up that Ashram collectively/in common want it - it will 'happen'. What they need/seek will happen. That is the power of faith.

This is why Sinhala Buddhist monks participate in local politics whilst the Dalai Lama is participating at the global level. That is the real power of Buddhism.
