also believe that, given our obvious intellect as well as stupendous potential for greatness, terrorism is the dumbest endeavor a section of the Nothern inhabitants that shares so much with the rest of the inhabitants of Sri Lanaka has ever partaken, and there has never been a truly good reason for a single act of terrorism in Sri Lanka or anywhere else in the world for that matter!

terrorism is very handy and fancy words for oppressors

In the vastness of your ignorance, you imagine the LTTE to be some kind of a humanitarian liberation movement.

Rajapaksa was told that if Sri Lanka was serious about an eventual political settlement to the conflict, it needed to let the
eastern province administration enjoy full powers in areas such as
agriculture,
#education,
irrigation,
finance and
police affairs.

Radar

Mind you, given the concerns of the air force, the government invested in a three dimensional Chinese radar Y4-11 and located it in the Gampaha district which however inside sources say only provided a weak and intermittent signal of the aircraft's movement towards Colombo. In contrast, the Indian radar at the Katunayake airport had provided a more powerful signal.

This development is not very surprising in that the Y4-11 Chinese radar can cover upto 180 kms and low level range of 60-70 kms and interestingly, the airforce had said with a 3D radar and night interceptors they could neutralise the LTTE aircraft.

However despite President Rajapakse providing the airforce its requirements from China, the LTTE aircraft could not be intercepted and the failure to lock-on could only be attributed to either the skill of the pilot or the Chinese equipment which may well be 'hand me downs.'

Either way, having wanted the Chinese equipment and the President leaving no stone unturned to provide them to the air force, Chief Roshan Gunathileke will now have some tough explaining to do what went wrong.

All in all it was a good week for India and it remains to be seen how successful she will be in the weeks ahead in taking control of the Sri Lankan situation to the exclusion of regional rivals, Pakistan and China.

A special Indian emissary is to arrive in Sri Lanka shortly to advise and supervise the recommendations of All Party Conference to resolve the national issue, Irida Lanka reports.

Citing political sources, Irida Lanka says the responsibilities of this Indian emissary would be to advise the APC on the formulation of the proposals aimed at a political solution for the East and the Northern regions, while ensuring the full implementation of the 13th Amendment.

Sri Lankan envoys who were in New Delhi recently had agreed to India s request to send an emissary for the above purpose, it adds.

Irida Lanka adds the Sri Lankan government has also agreed to India s requests to suspend military offensives after the capture of Kilinochchi and or devolve power beyond the 13th Amendment if military offensives are to continue.

At a meeting with Indian Minister of External Affairs, Pranab Mukherjee, visiting Senior Presidential Advisor, Basil Rajapaksa has informed of this, it adds.

Irida Lanka news report adds that Mr. Rajapaksa has also pledged to implement a political solution under an unofficial MoU with the LTTE.
