This reinforces the argument made day and night in this forum and elsewhere that the world should play down the political significance of these gangsters and treat them as purely criminal conspirators who are serving the interests of 'dark forces' of India.
Since the conflict at least in part not genuinely political, then there will not be a political solution!

At the same time, New Delhi has conveyed to Basil Rajapaksa, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa's adviser and brother, that a military win over the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) was near impossible.

I disagree with the school of thought that subscribes to the idea that there is no military solution, unfortunately, the military is the only solution!
The reality of war sucks. The closest thing to a Tamil is a Singhalese and vice versa.

miss puswedi upl-joker never fail to amaze me with her brilliant thoughts.....if VP is Leading Tamils To Extinction, then i would like to kindly suggest her to ask the govt to pull out all the govt armed forces from the north and east..so in this way the govt can archive it's goal without being blamed by the interested parties as it will be the ltte run wild in the north and east to kill every tamils in the north and east!
