The distance between Sangupiddy and Thanankilappu across Jaffna lagoon is about 5 km. to have a land route between Jaffna and Mannar, SLA has to construct a 5km long elevated road across Jaffna lagoon. Engineering regiments of SLA may already be getting ready for the construction.

I think, GOSL do not have to worry that much as the RESOURCES are scarce. Because, in an urgency already SLA has a LAnd route along A-32 and SLA is dominating A - 9 also though it is not free of attacks.

Now major routes of LTTE transports are destroyed and LTTE is cornered to one side from A -9, GOSL can decide to do what ever they want with the captured areas.

During that time, People in the Visvamadu and the adjacent area can be drained slowly leaving LTTE only there.

After that, it is anybody's guess.

As SLA is already in KArathivu, they can send more from the other side freely. there won't be LTTE to accept when they cross to this side.

People concerned with economy and progressive US, are with Obama. But majority is average people. Average and below average people do not bother about economy or job security. Instead they prefer conservative nature. I guess, McCain will win at the end of the day.

But Polls say other wise. Even Palin is getting ready for 2012 not this time.

Besides, because of bad economic conditions bush got bad reputation and he was there for 08 years that will go against Republicans.

So, I say all the odds are for Democrats.

This construction will not cost more than 200 million SLR. This amount is nothing compared to a refurbish Mig-29( US$ 2 million = 200 million SLR).

SLA will establish their permanent military bases along A-32 for the safety and can have a sea borne supply route as well. So this amount will be a good investment.

I don't understand about any strategic importance of the said construction, unless thinking about an alternative LAnd route to JAffna.

Anyway, it is better to not spend money on Migs and instead find other cheaper innovative solutions to ZLINs. I think lot of changes are needed there before any disaster happens.

I support moving SLA/SLN camps from expensive lands in Colombo to North and East. Many Southern camps need to be relocated.

SLA will establish their permanent military bases along A-32 for the safety and can have a sea borne supply route as well. So this amount will be a good investment.

This is a must and GOSL should STOP once and for ever smuggling and other things via that part of the ocean.
