A news item from Palestine poses a question, whether Palestinian President saved the life of Mahinda Rajapakse, President of Sri Lanka?
According to the news report, on 10th October President of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas was due to arrive in Sri Lanka on a state visit and on the very same day Sri Lankan President was scheduled to attend a traditional agricultural function.
The report went on to say, However President Mahinda Rajapaksa decided to be at the airport to welcome President Abbas personally as an expression of his close friendship with the Palestinian cause.
While at the airport he was shocked when he heard the news of the LTTE suicide bomber jumping on to the VIP convoy that took part in the agricultural function, the report pointed out.
If not for the visit of President Abbas, the news report went to clarify, Sri Lanka President would have attended the traditional agricultural function.

If the President took to the road with his convoy of vehicles all the roads he would have taken would have been closed not only to traffic but to all pedestrian traffic as well. So this story about MR escaping the suicide bomber is just nonsence. |

| It is very unlikely to see President travels by this road... Coz this road is not in a good condition for traffic at all. Lol! |

Even though President Mahinda is a Lawyer he hails from a southern farming family and we the Gamiya's of Sri Lanka are proud of it.

What a great guy this Abbas is! He can't save a tree from being cut down by the Israelis, leave alone the lives and limbs of thousands of poor Palestinians in his own Occupied Land where he is holed up almost throughout the year, but when on one of his rare trips outside his Open Prison, he saves the life of the President of Sri Lanka from the LTTE terrorists who are no different to the Israeli terrorists!!
Bravo Abbas. Bravo Palestine Media. Bravo Asian Tribune for picking up this funny piece. |

| I think it is the 'big Pirith noola ' every Tom Dick and Harry of politics wearing on their wrists save their lives. They recharge the Pirith Noola every few days to stay alive. |
