When all over the world the commodities and fuel price is going down, in SL the condition is reverse - The Govt is not in a position to reduce the pricing level - causing economic hardships to its own people - Next to Zimbabweyans, srilankans are living in real pathetic conditions - cannot question the authorities for any reduction in price - even if they demand, Government was mesmerizing its people projecting false victory in the war front - it is expected next 3 to 4 years global recession will persists and and will hit drastically most of the underdeveloped countries like SL. - Knowing all these difficulties and no support base from IC for SL, MR and his team has changed their tune to the voice of India, atleast there is light at the end of the Tunnel. Bug again the condition is ceasefire between GOSL and LTTE in the name of power devolution proposal.

The coming days going to be hard for SL for its own survival.

not only SL, it is common to every country. in fact if the economy is big, it takes more time to recover. India will face the same problem.

besides, other countries never give you loan for free. countries provide load because they can earn income. IMF or World bank doing the same thing. when GoSL needs loan or money, they have plenty of option to choose. it is just a matter of interest rates...

good thing is the fuel price. as long as the fuel price is low we are fine...SL's primary exports are apperal and agricultural products...we don't export capital products.

agricultural products are basic needs....SL is not going to loose much given the current situation.

SL has solid banking system.

don't too much worry about SL economy. once the terrorits cancer is over, you will see the roses in full bloom.
