Lankan News Replies

Pearaa`ru bridge, located on Maangku`lam - Oddisuddaan Road, which branches off from the A9, the access route which was used by the World Food Programme (WFP) humanitarian convoy to Vanni during the first week of October has been destroyed by the Sri Lankan forces in joint attacks carried out since Sunday. In the meantime, rain has started to fall in densely populated areas in Vanni on Tuesday. Many of the refugees living under the trees were forced to seek shelter in buildings, temples, churches and with the neighbouring houses.

The IDPs were expecting Humanitarian Convoy last Friday.

On Sunday, a Sri Lanka Army DPU team attempted to destroy the 15 meter wide and 10 meters deep bridge, which is located at 9th Mile Post from Maangku`lam. Later, the SLA targeted the bridge with artillery fire. Sri Lanka Air Force bombers also carried out bombardment on the bridge, disabling vehicle transport over the bridge.

Pearaa`ru channels water from Vavuniyaa to Ira`naimadu Tank.

The other access road, which runs thruough Neadungkea`ni from Pu`liyanku`lam in Vavuniyaa towards Mullaiththeevu has been targeted by the DPU for a long time.

Congrats! Buddhist Dhamma Dwipa continues the Tamil genocide with a greater vigour and its scotched earth policy continues to devastate the remaining Tamil homelands. In this instance a key infra structure is targeted specifically to cut off food supplies from reaching the IDPs thus effectively starving the Tamil civilians into leaving their home lands or starve to death. Homes, hospitals, schools, public service facilities are subjected to continued aerial bombardment and destruction. Future SL prime ministers will hereafter add to the claim that 'Buddhism is SL's gift to the world' that its gift to the Tamils is successfully starving them out in its dharmic war against the Basil Rajapakse's 'para demalas'. In this it has the blessings of Congress Delhi.Congress-Delhi that keeps the 'para demalas' in Tamil Nadu in shackles using the Indian navy, Indian intelligence and armed forces in the ground preventing them from sending relief for the starving Tamil brethren in SL. Buddha dhamma allows SL to use the starvation along with its scotched earth tactics devastating Jaffna before but this time Congress-Delhi guarantees that unlike in the past no food relief drops are under consideration. Effectively Congress-Delhi gives SL the license to use any methods of warfare including starvation as a weapon of war however cruel it may be. The blatancy of the Congress-Delhi's position reveals the extent to which SL's para demala prejudice has infected Congress-Delhi that independent observers openly argue that 'Tamilnadu (is) being forced to go the Eelam way'. Sad day for an emerging super power that has lost its moral bearings. Please see Merinews 12 October 2008. The courageous journalism of Natteri Adigal has to be applauded especially by the world-wide Tamil community. His is now a household name and his article is a rare and refreshing commodity in the arid Indian media (and blogs) desert whose hallmark is to put out stale, stereotyped and biased reports on SL-Indian relations and foreign policy.

Mr. Sivasubramani, In the Merinews article, it is asserted that 'Sri Lankan Tamils are solidly behind LTTE'. If that is true, what kind of support has TMVP got, and are TMVP somehow less Tamil in your eyes because they're cooperating with the government? What about all those Tamils living in Colombo and suburbs, they might hate some of the government's methods but I doubt most are LTTE supporters. If LTTE allowed civilians to leave most would have left the conflict area by now. It is the LTTE that is not giving them permits to leave so that they can use them as human shields, at the same time claiming indiscriminate attacks on civilians are taking place, and leading people like yourself to tarnish buddhism.

Sivasubramani you are complaining about the bridge and talking about genocide! If you and your LTTE is full of innocent saints why did they take arms against a democratically elected government and killed many thousands of civilians through terror and suicide bombings. Many of the highly educated Tamils were assassinated by LTTE.They killed their own race without any court cases just because they did not like LTTE.When they talk they are the most innocent non racist people on earth. But they chased away all the Muslims and Singhalese from North and it is not racism!!But in South more than 50% of Tamils live among Singhalese and Muslims!!If Singhalese and Muslims were racists like LTTE then they could have easily chased away all the Tamils from Singhalese dominated areas.Subramanium you have double standards my friend.

It is simply strange to complain about a bridge.Where were you....

-When LTTE have kidnapped and sacrificed more than 10,000 kids on the dream alter of self determination?
-Where were you when the LTTE even stole tsunami money from tamils who lost everything?
-If the LTTE is soooooo fantastic why more than 500,000 have fled to the south?
-Where were you when 40,000 women, elderly, kids were kept as human shield in Varaki and now many more in Wanni
-Were you delighted with the freedom the LTTE gave to tamils which is to 'open mouth only to eat'
-Did you know the so called liberators did not give a grain of rice or a panadol to tamils despite collecting billions over last 25 yrs?

Sir, if you have bitterly complained about many thousands of similer inhumane activities of the LTTE, then you certainly can complain about the bridge being blasted.
If not take the log out of your eye before complaining about the spec in the opponents eye!
