Commando team of the Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTTE), attached to the Batticaloa Command of the Tigers, attacked a Field-bike Road Patrol of the Sri Lanka Army, killing two SLA soldiers Tuesday around 3:00 p.m. in Maha Oya division of Ampaa'rai district, according to a media release issued by the political division of the LTTE in Batticaloa. Meanwhile, LTTE's Ampaa'rai command claimed that a Sri Lankan Special Task Force (STF) commando was killed in a booby trap explosion in Kangchikudichchaa'ru in Ampaa'rai. and five sustained serious injuries when they entered a booby trapped area during a search operation at 11:40 a.m..
Five STF commandos sustained serious injuries in the explosion in Kagnchikudichchaa'ru, the Tigers said.
The field-bike used by the SLA road patrol in Maha Oya was also destroyed in the attack, carried out at a locality in the east of the river in the region, the Tigers said. |

Please go to today's daily mirror and under the T20 victory news item, check out the comments section. There are 2 websites quoted there. One is tamileelamnews and the other one is Yarl I think. Take a look at the photos there and give me your opinion. To me they looked funny. |

again ,, it is thuggery to use the military against the people you call them as yours while there is plenty of other options available to archive the same goal.
the minute you blame any terrorists for your own failier , you lost to the game,, in this way the sinhalas not only lost the game but are playing without any rules.
to eradicate terrorism , the authority should invest more on education, employments, proper health care, banking system, attracting foreign investments while strengthening the justice system, good governance and the democracy.
what has this govt or the past ones done to the people besides killing them in this regard??
by looking at the way things are since 1948 , the sinhalas are only interested in killing the Tamils in the north and east while exposing them to assimilation in the rest of the island while creating animosity betweens communities and in this way one can quite safely come to the conclusion that there is a vicious genocidal war is taking place.

I have seen those pictures..I do not think Sanath will ever show the middle finger..Sanath knows the laws of cricket and if this is what it is claimed then ICC will take action..
Remember in Soccer showing such signals will land you in severe problem.
Sana is a gentleman..I am still not sure what actually happened.. |

Well done SL team.
by the way that is a multi ethnic team, representing all communities. just so happens Muraleetharan did not play in this tournament.
Must be hard to swallow Jayasuriya winning Man of the match award and Ajantha Mendis winning Player of the Tournament award.
But swallow it. Those losers who protested outside wanted to do that inside and were not allowed. then they wanted publicity which they didnt get. then they wanted SL team to lose that did not happen.
Man, looking at these losers I feel nothing but an overwhelming sense of sadness.
Lads, on top of SL team victory. US markets were flying yesterday. Me with my extremely modest savings in the market enjoying both at the moment.

Coming back to the thread (and apologising for the post above in regards to the cricket match, whcih SL won), the report is by the ICRC and therefore must be reliable.
The KEY word is 'Sri Lankans' and that is what we have to bear in mind. Those who are fleeing are Sri Lankans be it tamil or Muslim.
At least now the LTTE should let these people go instead of holding them at gun point. Looks like they are actually leaving disregarding the LTTE attempts to keep them in Kili.
The governemnt should make sure that they are cared for once they come to Vavuniya. These people need not suffer to safeguard the LTTE's deranged leadership. |
