AnuD,
I think, SLA want to attack from behind the Deep trench.
It is possible that SLA is at the vicinity of Nallur, so LTTE can not use artillery against advancing forces in Kilali. Few days back SLA captured Manniyakulam junction and on the same day they advanced another 3 km. The distance between Manniyakulam to Nallur is about 12 km. |

| The Hindu, an Indian daily newspaper, which always supported the Sinhalese governments quote Jayalalitha as saying The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Jayalalithaa on Thursday urged the Union government to mobilise relief materials for Sri Lankan Tamils who were suffering without food, clothing, shelter or medicines. In a statement, she said in the ongoing conflict in Sri Lanka, thousands of innocent civilian Tamils had been displaced. They had been rendered homeless and were living as refugees in their own homeland.
which maybe a sign that Rajapakse govt is nearing its last months of survival.
World Bank also published that SL is nearing bankruptcy.
Rajapaksa brothers may have to abandon the military jingoism and look for a reasonable political solution based on equality of all communities.

Pal, do not count on it, though, as Tiger R&D Labs are already working on KILI-II and KILI-III prototypes. They have much longer range! KILI is one hell of a multiple warhead weapon! |

Once the carnage in world financial markets reach the shores of Sri Lanka, several leading banks could fall. The collapse of Sawithi(spelling?) and disappearence of it President may be just the tip of the iceburg.
Once big SL banks start falling like dominos, GOSL has no option but putting money to keep the banks going or else face the wrath of the general public. Thus it is inevitable that $1.7 billion war money will not be there. It will be back to VP time then! The next SL govt will be then begging for a CFA! |

For a change the forum members can comment on the Unitary State and Provincial Councils (remembering that merged N-E PC failed miserably in 1989 and the CM was ordered to be arrested by the Sinhala president JR) that Jajapakse instructed the APRC Chaiman to produce as its own.
Sinhala members are shy to talk about it which can be understood. Others too floow the agenda set by these Sinhalese supremacists. WHY? WHY? WHY?
The arguments are one sided, always talked about What LTTE wants, Eelam and why not balance it by what the Rajapakse govt want to offer? |

Eelam means Sihalam. The word Eelam is seen in the South Indian books of fourth (4th) century which means Sihalam. It also means Sinhaladhiva but they are asking for Tamil Eelam. After the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British started schools to provide missionary education according to the needs of their administration, a group of masters were evolved. As the administration was in the hands of the Sinhala Buddhists during 1940, the group of Tamil masters understood that they would loose the outstanding status of the life they were experiencing. They demanded a separate division in the country giving importance to the two colours appearing in the national flag. They argued the flag should give emphasis to the multi-religions practiced in the country by the multi-nationals and therefore, it should not especially depict a particular community. Thus a wrong entrance was opened against the policy of the three communities staying or living together. |
