Did i not post that info Paki Pimpy that GSP+ is abt 30% of total Exports ?

Question here Pundit Chennai -is what % of THIS 30% will go as a result of loss of GSP.
You seem to think the entire 30% will be lost.
At worst 30% might go. Marginally profitable companies will go.
The rest will cut prices & costs -will find other markets.
How much is 30% of 30% ?
Will that be enough to bring the economy crashing down?
You are like the Jackal who was following the big goat -waiting for the goats scrotum to fall one day!
:))))

Bakz,
our friend Chennai 'The Intelctual' Guuy surfed the net and found out about the GSP+. He did some more searches and did his own South Indian Calculations and came up with his current theories. They float as good as his Stealth Submarines. So let him wallow in his own glory...

is what % of THIS 30% will go as a result of loss of GSP.

Read this info please how a single hotel can provide bread / butter to entire village !

If that is the case even a single order loss will be felt more by GOSL since they used to tax the local industry & feed the War machine with the taxes raised..

So any loss of tax revenue will be felt badly in the War front !

Even if 30% of 30% is lost , it will be abt totalling 10% of export loss..Considering how every country is being pressed for liquidity in Financial markets, the going will not be good for GOSL .

Hotel operators warn that the downturn in the industry will not be limited to the number of falling arrivals or occupation rates.

'Entire village economies can depend on a single hotel,' Dayal Fernando, the general manager at Amaya Reef Hotel, a beach front hotel at Hikkaduwa on the scenic southern coast, 100km south of Colombo, told IRIN.

Sri Lanka is a tourist paradise, but with large numbers of tourists avoiding the island because of security concerns, many hotels are in dire economic straits and it is having a ripple effect on their work forces and suppliers

'When the hotels lose business, the suppliers in turn feel the pinch and it will impact their employees and those in the transport sector or on the farms that provide food for the tourist trade,' Fernando said. 'Most of the hotels also employ a lot of people from the area and if retrenchments start, the local economies will be the first to feel the heat.'
