I Did... when I had no choice.
Now I have a choice. So I choose well. Always used to tell an Indian freind of mine that India produces TATA buses and MARUTI cars and Vans as a way to control their populations.

The figures have already been estimated.
Impact would be about 2% of GDP .
Then work out the GDP per capita & see where it stands.
2% loss of GDP is no big deal Chennai-
Foregoing that for the sake of wiping out LTTE is part of the future investment.

Again -remember there are measures to counter loss of GSP+
As long as the higher duty burden does not pass onto the final consumer the volumes will remain same.
