| No problem with self determination which is guaranteed under a Fed solution. Unitary state, that is the story. and the constitution, that is the sticky part. Jeya says under the framework of a Sri Lankan Constitution , which even some of us think needs change. You used to seek otherwise.
If SL constitution remains as it is, unitary state remains as it is, what she is suggesting is PROVINCIAL COUNCILS. that is what India always suggested.
india has not changed. Dont expect miracles.
This is an election gimmick. Indians are masters at it. Intersting to see how easily some of our friends get amused!

They are the strength of Eelam Tamils at the same time, I would say, the Sinhalese hate the Eelam Tamils because of them also. The fear of Tamil Nadu makes the Sinhalese to feel insecure about Tamils. The Sinhala insecurity is killing the Eelam Tamils, even though the Eelam Tamils don't claim any part of Sinhala historic habitats.

On the other hand, Mr Karunanidhi, who had earlier called Ms Jayalalithaa s support for Lankan Tamil s fake, has now requested all political parties to sink their differences and come together for the cause of the Tamils in Sri Lanka.
In a poem published in DMK mouthpiece Murasoli he asked that political parties forget their narrow political differences and unite on this issue.
Now even TN Tamils are openly advocating the concept of GTR (Great Tamil Republic, which is the much anticipated union of Tamil Nadu and Tamil Eelam.)

The MINIMUM solution acceptable to the Eelam Tamils is lingusitic confederation based on Tamils' self determination. Anything short of that won't work for the Tamils. The minimum acceptable solution is two linguistic states of United States of Sri Lanka.
