Sri Lanka Navy is participating at the Boat Show Sri Lanka 2008 being held at the Bandaranaike International Memorial Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo from the 08th to the 10th June 2008.
The show has been organized by the Boat Building Technology Improvement Institute Lanka (BTI Sri Lanka) and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) in association with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), Ministry of Industrial Development, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE).
The show is aimed at promoting Sri Lanka s boat Industry to attract both local and foreign long-term investment and to expand its exporting opportunities. Many stake holders in the industry including the service providers are taking part in the show which is being held for the first time in Sri Lanka.
A multitude of related business sector participants, both local and foreign, are exhibiting a variety of boats and related items, such as navigation equipment, submersibles, naval architecture, inboard engines, air conditioning systems, electric systems, safety equipments, deck accessories etc. The show has been drawing visitors in large numbers and the Navy s exhibition stall has been one of their major attractions.
The Navy has put on display their latest boats and craft manufactured by their innovative naval personnel and is displaying their excellence and potential in boat manufacturing techniques to the professionals in the field and the enthusiasts who admire innovative products. Its exhibits include Inshore Patrol Craft (IPC), Arrow Boats, canoe and Enterprises sailing boats as well as slip way and ship modules, naval knots and splices and photographs of SLN ships and craft. |
