That is not true. Gen. Perera was a war hero. I am saddened by this killing. I have faced him in several battles when I was with the LTTE. I have always appreciated him as an officer.It s time the UNP also changed their minds about the LTTE. The LTTE will attack anyone and there will be no exceptions for the UNP either. Prabakaran has lost everything and is a frustrated man today. They carry out these kinds of killings to build up the cadres morale. The Tamil diaspora doesn t understand the LTTE psyche. I am hundred percent sure it is the LTTE that killed Gen. Perera. The LTTE suffered much under his command in Welioya and the Riviresa operation. LTTE tried to kill him several times after that but failed. He was always a target of the LTTE. |
