Were not the civilians supposed to move out of wanni as per the Demand set out by GOSL ?

How can unarmed civilians move out when there are brave 'tigers' with guns, blocking their exit?

Maybe they could borrow t-girl 19's time machine!

no no... India is too busy reading telegrams! hehehe

Four decomposed bodies belonged to an Army soldier, a Civil Defense Force personnel and two Sinhalese civilians, were recovered from a jungle hut in Horowpathana in Anuradhapura district.

Reportedly the soldier was on leave and had gone to the jungle with two others on September 29.

A T-56 rifle and four magazines belonged to the Civil Defense Force personnel have gone missing.

All the bodies except the corpse of the Civil Defense Force personnel were in a highly decomposed state. Police believe the Civil Defense Force personnel had been killed later than the others.

Postmortems were conducted this morning in Anuradhapura hospital. Police are conducting investigations.

Chennai

Actual words of Narayanan

[Narayanan said that [the escalation of hostilities in the north and the resultant fall out was leading to a great deal of concern in India], an Indian foreign ministry statement said.

Sri Lanka must [act with greater restraint and address the growing feeling of insecurity among the minority community,] it said.]

tigers are tamils & vice versa in North...

There are about two hundred Thousand civilians trapped in the
LTTE controlled area. They are mostly from Mahavir families
and they survive on Mahavir pensions. The rest belong to
families of present LTTE cadres and people forcibly taken from
liberated areas. If tigers are tamils & vice versa, tigers should have a army of two hundred thousand in it's disposal.

Yep !

Like how to get funds at higher interest rates to settle old loans !

Classic sign of Bankrupcy in govt !

Sri Lanka government has decided to raise US$ 300 million by way of a syndicated loan in any major reserve currency from international markets.

According to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, as envisaged in the budget and approved by the Parliament, the funds would be used for financing the ongoing infrastructure projects.

With this additional borrowing, the government is of the view that there will not be any further need for foreign currency borrowings this year. After taking the above foreign currency borrowing, as well as the other expected borrowings during the rest of the year, into consideration, the Debt/GDP ratio is estimated to be at the level of 78.5% at the end of the year 2008, as against the ratio of 85.8% at the end of the year 2007, stated Central Bank.

So it's ok GoSL to bomb the north back to the stone-age?

You don't mind...your a55 is not in danger, right?

Typical peelamist thinking....it's all good as long as I am not directly affected!

This move by the TN shows the importance of cultivating our traditional links with Ganga, Indus regions (Punjab to Bengal) to counterbalance the greed of the traditional trouble maker.

Dannevade aei haeme Lanka river aeketame Gangaye kiyela api kiyanne. Ex. Mahaveli Ganga, Keleni Ganga Simply it was the nostalgic homage to great Ganga from its children who settled in the island.
