Sri Lanka issue: Ramadoss backs Karunanidhi s call
Karunanidhi should make efforts that will teach a lesson to Sri Lanka
CHENNAI: Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S. Ramadoss on Tuesday welcomed Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi s call for unity on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue.
Urging the Chief Minister to take urgent steps, Dr. Ramadoss said Mr. Karunanidhi should come forward to bring likeminded political organisations under a front and make efforts that would teach a lesson to the Sri Lankan government. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should talk to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse and convey his condemnation. The Chief Minister should urge Dr. Singh to caution Mr. Rajapakse that no Tamil should die in the ongoing offensive. He should call the Sri Lankan Members of Parliament belonging to the Tamil National Alliance and ascertain the actual position.
He should take steps for the MPs meeting with Dr. Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
The PMK leader said a parliamentary committee should be sent to the island nation to have first-hand knowledge of atrocities on Tamils in northern and eastern parts of Sri Lanka. Representatives of parties based in the State should also go along with MPs of national parties. They should meet people at refugee camps set up there.
The Indian government should render humanitarian assistance on the basis of the report submitted by the parliamentary committee, he added.

Sri Lanka Asks India Not To Be Influenced By Malicious Propaganda
10/8/2008 1:55 AM ET
Sri Lanka counseled New Delhi to 'perceive marginalization of the Tamil Tigers in the correct perspective' and not to be 'influenced by malicious propaganda' against the military campaign of the government targeting the Tigers, media reports said
The move came after India's National Security Adviser M K Narayanan summoned Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner G G A D Palithaganegoda to convey New Delhi's concerns to him and asked the government in the island nation to 'act with greater restraint' -- following threats from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Karunanidhi of withdrawal of support to the Congress-led government over the Sri Lankan military offensive in the north of the country.

Considering that Prabha the Magician Pulled out two Hindians from the Wanni HQ hat, this is highly unlikely !
Now even the Joint Patrol in the seas is getting differed due to opposition from Hon CM. Karunanidhi ! |

what the point noted is that India successfully blocked/blocks any UN initiation to intervene directly into the ethnic conflict on behalf of you ppl.
What's holding you back from making your point clearly and concisely??? Is all that delusion damaging your multi-cell?
as the way the things are moving India should stop supporting this genocidal war
There are lots of 'shoulds' in life. For example, I don't think you 'should' support an organization lead by a high school drop out who by any measure, is a psychopath.....
Life is what it is...not what it 'should' be and until peelamists figure that out, you are condemned to sacrifice your children, the future of your so called superior race, on the alter of a psychopath whose only real interest is himself. |

Tamil Nadu exerts pressure on New Delhi against Sri Lanka's war
TamilNet, Tuesday, 07 October 2008, 09:36 GMT
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu state in Southern India, Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi, on Monday indirectly declared that his government would no longer tolerate Indian Central government aiding the Sri Lankan government against the Eezham Tamils, even if it aided Colombo 'unwittingly'. The move comes after the veteran DMK leader urged his party members to telegram New Delhi to convey their displeasure with the attitude of the Central government. He has issued a veiled threat to New Delhi implying that he would not hesitate to withdraw his support to the ruling UPA alliance, if Sri Lanka continued its war against Eezham Tamils, media reports in Tamil Nadu said.
Following thousands of telegrams and a letter sent by him to Indian Prime Minister with four demands, the Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh discussed with Mr. Karunanidhi over the phone Monday morning. Later, Mr. Karunanidhi addressed the people of Tamil Nadu in a public meeting called on to declare his support to Eezham Tamils in Chennai. Thousands attended the rally.
The four demands, which Kalaignar said he read out to the Indian Prime Minister, when the latter contacted him over the phone, were:
The Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Delhi should be called on the carpet by the Indian Central Government against the killings of Tamils in Sri Lanka
Put an end to the military offensive and the killings by the Sri Lankan government
Sri Lankan Government should enter Peace Talks
There should be no hardships imposed on Tamil Nadu fishermen by the Sri Lanka Navy
Stating that Dr. Manmohan Singh responded in a sympathetic tone in saying that he had already conveyed the concerns coming from Tamil Nadu to the Sri Lankan High Commission in New Delhi, Kalaignar went on saying that he urged Indian Prime Minister to come forward to the struggle with him if Sri Lanka continued its war against Tamils ignoring the request already conveyed by the Indian Prime Minister to the Sri Lankan High Commissioner.
'I am urging the Centre, peacefully and decently, that we would be forced to find an answer to the question whether this DMK government is needed if our requests go unheeded. I have to remind that I am foremost a Tamil. I also happen to be the Tamil who is ruling the Tamil Nadu state with the responsibility as a guardian to the people of Tamil Nadu.'
The above statement was viewed as a veiled threat to the Centre by analysts in Chennai. 'It counts the same whether a Tamil gets killed here or in Sri Lanka. This rally is held to express publicly that we urge the Indian government not to give up us Tamil Nadu Tamils in our struggle to safeguard them Tamils in Sri Lanka.'
