Tigers waiting to pounce: Strategy Page.

Lankan News Replies

The LTTE is known to have several hundred experienced, well trained and armed fighters who could launch devastating attacks if the army gets sloppy, an international Defence publication reported yesterday.
The Strategy Page reported that the army was in no hurry to advance into Tiger territory as it was aware that haste merely provided the LTTE with more opportunities to launch surprise commando attacks.

Casualties so far this year are about 7,000 LTTE and 700 soldiers killed. There are several hundred casualties a week, as the army continues to make persistent small attacks all along the front lines, using air power and artillery to take a few LTTE bunkers here, a few there, and slowly push the line back. Sri Lankan officials were trying to convince these `sanctuary states` to be most careful who they accept after the LTTE were being defeated in Sri Lanka. The government expects the terrorists to carry on with suicide bombings and other attacks, to keep the `war` going. This will only work if the terrorists have foreign sanctuaries to operate from, the Strategy Page said.

It said the government was particularly keen to see that the LTTE leadership did not find a foreign sanctuary after they were forced out of Sri Lanka.

Read the part where it says about how Janaka perera chased the LTTE. We have more JP's in our SLD, and not afraid for any kind of an attack. but only concern is to minimize SLA deat toll.

No hurry. Don't make the same mistake like in the previous times. Take time to plan, do it right. After another 4000, it will be over.

LTTE kills their own carders if those carders get caught while on the way to army controlled territory for their lives. Also isolated small surprise attacks may not sufficient enough to stop SLA brave solders.

This international publication must be owned by terrorists. Will wait and see. Why cannot they do anything at the minute? I feel tigers do not look really ominous apart from their suicide acts
