Berty, did you read about thivya and the clan claiming that murali is supporting the LTTE and that the SL cricket board is racist because they didn't give captaincy to Murali (even when he became the number 1 bowler in the world) and even when mahela Jayawardene was 'dropped' from captaincy and they were 'desperately' looking for a replacement! :))

Also thivya got a little poodle by the name of CholaPandyan... he barks at everybody who comes into thivyas forum and speaks against her...

I did not see Thivya post on Murali and if we leave the issue of being a tamil or supporting LTTE, I feel Murali should have been considered for captaincy (i am not sure whether Murali was ever considered). There is no question that he deserved at least a vice captain position at some point.
I don't think there is any racial issue here..let us keep sports out of our daily bashing..

The captaincy and the vice captaincy is not an easy job. One qualification is that they are looking how are you are going to interact with the media and how you tackle them. It is very important when you are talking to a journalist to guard you toungue and if you can remember once Atherton called a Pakistan journalist a baboon, Rahul Dravid refused to anawer the journalist when one journalist accused him of 'match fixing'.

Murali many times failed in this criteria as once he was reprimanded for uttering nonsence to a british journalist during the test match series. Not that he wasn't considered and at one time he himself rejected the vice captaincy because he said that he will be not able to concentrate on the game while bowling huge amout of overs.

BTW guys, I am baffled why are you all paying so much attention to this mentally retarted historical queen. It's better you just igonore her comments, as she is a damn liar and down with some kind of a mental sickness. She becomes extrememly happy when she rouses racism in this blog. I don't know this woman might be thinking that rousing racism is orgasm.

As much as I like Murali as a person and admire him as a bowler (he also used to be a great fielder in younger days) I seriously don't think he is captaincy material. Also I don't think he wants it. But as I said previously I would like to see him given captaincy for a Test Match before he retires.

Only 2 KMs left for Nibbana !

Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTTE) officials in Vanni told media that their defensive formations put up stiff resistance against the SLA offensive units that attempted to advance on three fronts in southern Ki'linochchi district from 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday. 26 SLA soldiers were killed in Akkaraayan - Mu'rika'ndi sector, 16 in Vanni Vizhaangku'lam and 20 in Vannearikku'lam. The SLA offensive units were pushed back in all three fronts the Tigers said claiming that 49 SLA soldiers were wounded in Akkaraayan and 23 in Vanni Vizhaangku'lam. The Tigers also claimed to have seized arms and ammunition in the clearing mission in the evening.

The heavy fighting on Tuesday comes after days of continual artillery and Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher fire with several airstrikes on Ki'linochchi town and its suburbs.

The LTTE officials did not issue details of their casualties.
