Karuna Amman becomes a MP in Sri Lanka Parliament

Elections Commissisoner Dayananda Dishanayake has announced that Vinayagamurthy Muralitharan has been appointed as a member of the 6th Parliament. Accordingly, he is due to take oaths as a Parliamentarian
The announcement has been made in a Special Gazette Notification. He is popularly known as Karuna Amman. It will grant him an opportunity to represent the voice of the Eastern Tamil polity. He joined the LTTE in 1983 and was once even a bodyguard of the Prabhakaran and the armed leader of the outfit. In March 2004, he broke away from the mainstream LTTE alleging that Prabhakaran intentionally dragged the peace talks so that the cadres could exploit the cessation of hostilities to regroup. He joined the peace talks with the desire of reaching a political solution to meet the aims of the outfit. But he understood the truth of the leadership at the end of the discussions. Disillusioned by these developments, Mr. Muralitharan maintained silence during the final period of the LTTE outfit. He ditched the terrorist outfit and entered the democratic fold, serving collectively with the Eastern Tamil civilians. Thereafter, he was able to gain the confidence of these civilians. The opportunity to represent Parliament is another severe blow to the LTTE. Political analysts claim that paving the way for a terrorist leader to enter the political field clearly displayed the transparency of the Government s democratic policy.

Dress rehearsal for praba to enter the parliament. times do change. who thought deputy of praba would be in parliament one day. wonder what sambandan would say.

Few Qualifications of Kokila:

4.Karuna was arrested in London on November 2, 2007 following a joint operation between the Metropolitan Police and the Border and Immigration Agency. He was found in possession of a forged passport and firearms.

Mr. Samaraweera says the late politician had gathered information on serious irregularities in the military and about a handful of top defence officials who enjoy numerous privileges, about which the two had had extensive discussions a few days ago.
Maj. Gen. Perera had also planned to inquire into the problems of families of armed forces personnel.
The Rajapaksa brothers company and his henchmen in the military, who have made the war a political mirage, had found him a formidable challenge and people now had justifiable doubts as to whether they had acted to eliminate him from the political scene.
It is no secret that paramilitaries function under several government and military leaders, while Karuna Group also has a paramilitary unit with government patronage, Mr. Samaraweera said.
It is now known that these groups had been responsible for the spates of murders, abductions and extortions recently, and we believe their hands in several political killings, including those of Joseph Pararajasingham, Nadaraja Raviraj, T.Maheswaran as well as minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, he said.
It is a feature of the repressive Rajapaksa regime to maintain paramilitaries to strike at its opponents.

the place of death of Janaka Perera used Granite as foundations, A Raja Raja thing, whilst Parliament used concrete Piles as foundations

Great task of getting the complete types of Criminals under the sun to Lankan Parliament...best of Criminals for example Mervin silva, Amila Thero, Weerawansa, Atthavulla, Hisbulla, Hakeem, Ferial Ashrof, Douglas Devananda, Anandasangari, Telwin Silva etc etc......and now with Karuna's entry it is complete bunch of Criminals are in one place, no other type could be found in any part of the world.....Jayawewa Mahinda for your achievement to lead Sri Lanka to become another Afganistan, Somalia or Sudan very soon
Karuna getting the reward for killing over one hundred Sinhala Police men (who surrendered to him in Batticaloa) in one night during Premadasa Regime.....I feel sorry for the Sinhala Police families lost their family members at that time....Jayawewa Mahinda you even have Weerawansa now with you in power who was personally responsible for killing hundreds of Sinhala Armed forces members during late 1980s and early 1990s so Karuna should not make any difference to you...and now we Lankans know clearly it is the current Political culture in sri lanka ie: if you are a big criminal you can join Mahinda's GOSL no matter who you are or from which community you are from...Pathetic state of affairs in Sri Lanka
