He was a great man & a loss to mother lanka. If infact he did what certain people claim then it was only because he was defending his mother land. As commander of the region where a group was waging an illegal war demanding a seperate land - what do you expect him to do - say ok you kill my troops & do anything you want ... ???? I dont think so. Let anyone say anything he's my hero & also the thousands of troops who were under his command.

Breaking news :
Speaking to the media in Colombo, General Secretary of the party Tissa Attanayake said they suspected foul play, adding that the investigation by the government could not be trusted.
The LTTE, Pillayan Group or any other group or politician may have killed Maj. Gen. Perera, but the foundation for his murder was laid by a top official in the Defence Ministry and the Rajapaksa regime, Mr. Attanayake alleged.
Therefore, the incident should be investigated at international level, he said.
Days before the killing, east chief minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan had been seen in several areas of Anuradhapura and a major search was conducted at the weekend. |

'Duty of the solider is to maintain law and order of the country hook or by crook. If the civilians rebel against the lawfully selected government they have power to kill.
There is no sympathy for you dogs anymore. We will make whole area a graveyard for you assassins.' quoted from sahara55 comments.
My friend Sahara55, you are crying for a mad killer dog which has paid the prize today for killing all Tamil civilians in Jaffna and buried in Chemanni. The people who were killed by him have never engaged in any rebellious activities against this brutal government of Srilanka. Rather they were innocent kids, youngsters, parents, grandparents. Yes the people of Srilanka did select this government not our people. Our people boycotted it. I think you remember what happened during the election time.

| Saddam Hussein has been prosecuted for the killing 600 Kurds. Here another scenario looks the same for killing around 1000 Tamils. |
