Japan warns of aid cut to Sri Lanka

In international politics there are no friend.

Every country is there to look after their interests.

People who have stakes in Sri Lanka are Sri Lankan Sinhalese, Tamils & Muslims.

To achieve permanent peace in Sri Lanka we need to defeat the extremist force in Sri Lanka. No other country is going to help us to do that unless it is beneficial to them.

All Sinhalese, Tamils Muslims should understand this.

Sri Lanka we need to defeat the extremist force in Sri Lanka.

Is it JHU or JVP, the latter is more deadlier.

If Sri Lankans unite in diversity within a true Federal system all the communities can feel free and work for themselves that can only be beneficial to the whole country.

If GOSL wants to keep Japanese aid, better to pay some respect to the Japanese demand.

Issuing a clear request to LTTE for talks will do a big difference, while stopping war for 48h.

Japan is only moving to very hard line, if the US agrees for that. As long as the US is going against LTTE, risk is low to lose aids.

Japan also must have an understanding of the risk of these warnings, while its sending army to fight terrorists in Iraq (anyway, they are back home now).

What can LTTE talk on? 13th Amendment that was demonstrated as a clear failure by Varatharasaperumal, the choice of both JR and Indians, in 1987.

Even the so called moderate Ananthasangaree described it as the prescription for tumor in 1987 but the problem has grown into a 'cancer' which needs a surgery because it has grown into the whole system.

The main challenge today is to defeat LTTE extremism and racism militarily.

JVP & JHU should be ideologically & politically defeated.

Once LTTE is defeated, defeating JVP & JHU ideologically & politically will be a much easier task.

The main challenge today is to defeat LTTE extremism and racism militarily.

The state terrorism started in 1956 with the illegal and racist Sinhala Only Act. Since 1956 the state let loose the terrorism that killed and chased Tamils from their homes and destroyed their livelihood.

LTTE was founded much later in 1983 to check the state terrorism. Even if LTTE is destroyed which has been proved impossible during the last 25 years the state terrorism that raised its ugly head in 1956, 1958, 1965, 1977, 1983 will still be destructive.

The problem here is why we need devolution? We need devolution of power to develop Sri Lanka, serve the population effectively and improve the living standards of everyone. If we say devolution is required to satisfy the political aspiration of Tamils, then we loose credibility of devolution. With honest intensions this idea can be sell to the Sinhalese majority easily.

What Sri Lanka need in 21st century is a low cost administrative system that delivers goods to all communities.

Devolution of power to the 1% extremist will not bring peace and freedom for Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims. Power in the hands of fools is useless.

Devolution of power to the brightest non-extremist Sinhalese, Tamils & Muslim will bring long lasting peace & freedom for all Sri Lankans.
