The important element forgotten by every body who plays the racial card in demanding the division of the country on ethnic grounds is, firstly that in a small country like Sri Lanka natural resources are not equally distributed in ethnically divided parts of the country and that it self will promote further conflicts between ethnically divided population. Secondly a division of a country by ethnicity by it's constitution following years of racial disharmony will never promote pluralism, unity , and cooperation across the division.

Hence every mechanism starting from 50:50 demand by Tamils, their protest against Singhalese coming to dry zone, Singhala only act by SWRD, Banda Chelva pact and Dudley -Chelva pacts of ethnically division of the country , did nothing other than promoting a primitive concept, that ethnically different population needs to live separately.

This very concepts of promoting ethnic difference(50:50 demand and protest of Singhalese colonizing dry zone ) led to ethnic division and discrimination of the very minority who promoted the concept of racial difference in a multi ethnic, multi cultural , multi religious population. The discrimination of the minority led to under development of the very region they inhabited stubbornly ,limiting any other ethnic population inhabiting the so called historical home land . The dry zone , which is part of the so called historical home land suitable only for cultivation ,hence had been exploited by the minority to promote racism instead of making it a prosperous agricultural zone of the country, utilizing the precedence given by the majority of the country to build a pluralistic society with harmony.

Today the minority Tamils are loosing another battle of promoting Tamil racism as they have done 6 decades ago with 50:50 demand, 5 decades ago protesting Singhalese coming to the dry zone for cultivation calling it Singhala illegal colonization and finally with close to 3 decades of a war for a Tamil Eelam trying to carve 1/3 of the country with 2/3 of the coastal line for a 14% of the population. The irrationality of Tamil racism had been exhibited from the very out set of 50:50 demand and unfortunately had become an embodiment of Sri Lankan Tamil culture with self destruction of the very society.

Provisional councils will be the first step of Tamil rehabilitation from the lower depths they have plunged in to through their Tamil racism.

AnuD:

Only thing we here with Sinhala politicians is incompetance, unproductiveness and inefficiency.

Of course... their selfishness is the root of Sri Lank's problems, including Tamil problem!

As far as Karuna is concerned he was rotten to begin with and he deserves all that he gets.
Biggest mistake Karuna did was trusting MR and his brothers and he paid the price.
Let that be a lesson to anyone who is thinking of joining MR & Co.
