He alleged that Rajapaksa would not implement even the 13th amendment. 'Ours had been a history of broken promises.'
this is a likely scenario |

yeah, we never going to get a fair deal from the sinhalese but this is what the US ambassodor in lanka Robert O blake said ,,,,,,
Remarks by U.S. Ambassador Robert Blake at the National Peace Council Symposium (IN FEB 2007)
?Two Decades of War, Five Years of the CFA, What Next??
Sri Lanka now has an important opportunity finally to achieve peace and that opportunity must be seized. President Rajapakse has a strong majority in Parliament. His party, the SLFP, is in the final stages of crafting a power-sharing proposal that will then be shared with the All Party Representative Committee, under the capable leadership of Professor Vitharana.
The APRC then will bear a solemn responsibility to develop a proposal of its own that meets the aspirations of the Tamil, Muslim and Sinhalese communities. If the proposal is a credible one, there is strong reason to believe that it will attract the support of sufficient UNP members of Parliament to give the President the votes he needs to amend Sri Lanka's constitution.
The United States calls on the SLFP and the APRC to proceed as quickly as possible with their important work. If a credible power-sharing proposal emerges from the APRC, Sri Lanka has in President Rajapakse a strong leader who can use his very considerable political skills and the trust that his supporters repose in him to help fashion the southern consensus that has eluded previous governments. Such a consensus can then form the basis for renewed peace talks and an end to the conflict.

the USA gave tactic support and aided the war on Tamils while the CFA was valid in the name of waiting for the APRC proposal,
we knew long ago we will never get anything from the Sinhalese but the ambassador put all his energies into this APRC. his patience lead more than 7000 deaths and millions forced to leave their homes only to make those Tamils to suffer further while the srilanka army loot their homes. |

Tigeress , in 2002 the world persuaded LTTE to negotiate with srilankan government on the basis that a solution can be found under united srilanka.
2002 agreement was siigned but not implemented by srilankan government.
2005 LTTE said they give one year to come up with a acceptable solution.
2006 LTTE said LTTE no longer walk on this path believing srilankan government will ever put forward a solution.
2008 , mahinda Rajapaksha said he will capture all Ltte control area.
and not put forward a political solution.
he sings from start to intenational communitys ear that the words it wants to hear, no military solutions,CFA, human rights devolution of power and the world was fooled by it.
so Now the world have to remember what LTTE had said from start. and accept LTTE actions.
it looks like soon there will be big booms all aarround south. it looks like announcement to the world came through.... |

India also responsible for the innocent Tamils death for far too long,,
In response to a question on the recommendations of the All Party Representatives Conference in Sri Lanka
24/01/2008
In response to a question on the recommendations of the All Party Representatives Conference in Sri Lanka, the Official Spokesperson said :
?The Government of Sri Lanka has been good enough to share with us the interim steps recommended by the All Party Representatives Conference in Sri Lanka for implementation of devolution provisions and official language provisions of the Sri Lankan Constitution. It has consistently been our view that a settlement of the issues in Sri Lanka is to be done by the Sri Lankan people themselves in a manner acceptable to all communities within the framework of a united Sri Lanka. The Government of India will continue to work with Sri Lanka and its people to bring about such a settlement of the issues in Sri Lanka. To the extent that the APRC proposals contribute to such a settlement, they are a welcome first step.?

acceptable to all communities within the framework of a united Sri Lanka. by saying this officially , India tactically endorses the unitary form of governing system and sends the wrong signal to Colombo,,

government's APRC proposals has managed to hoodwink the IC, by looking at India's reaction. if and when the proposals pass the 2/3 majority, US will not comment any more about giving Tamils a fair solution, like they said previously. they will only say LTTE must renounce 'terrorism', and thats it.
on the other hand, attitude of Tamils in Northeast will harden, and become more pro-LTTE, including those who were slightlly unsure before, as they will be certain about gov not giving them a fair solution |

i agree, the failure of the *WAR FOR PEACE* strategy conducted by the then president chandrika BK was the result of the CFA.
now India and the USA give tactic support to the same strategy all over again is the pain. it may be that their people are not dying but ours,,
