Civil war between two ethnic groups had erupted into genocide

Over a period of 100 days , between 800,000 and 1071,000 Rwandans were massacred

even when they were trying to flee , the ruthless militia chased them and massacred them .

eventually a relief force was sent in to stop the genocide , but it was too late for the 1,000,000 men , women and children killed in the genocide .

:(:(:(

Thambi,

Yes it could have been avoided if the former Colonial masters had taken care of things before they left.

Yeah, they just let the genocide to happen...those super powers. It was only the RPF rebel group who stopped the genocide. The current president is the former Rebel leader.

However, tribute should be gone to Gen Romeo Dallaire, who atleast could save 30,000 lives.

great information , thanks for the input , but very sad within 100 days 1,000,000 people killed ? 10,000 people got killed every day ?

As for the movie ' shake hands with the devil ' I have heard it's better than Hotel Rwanda as far as capturing wide range snap shots.
