When the hostilaties ceased immediately after signing the CFA, the SLA personnel and LTTe cadres put down arms and huged each other across defence lines. Those images were historic and were shown on TV. That was a moment of 'forget and forgive' for both parties. Sinhalase and tamils did business together as before. Weapons become useless to both parties as they believed in peace.
Then there came someone who was not satisfied with just peace but wanting honorable peace. Those who voted for him in all parts of slanka except the north asked for war. Now they are getting it, be it sinhala or tamil or muslim.
That peace was shattered by one man (MR) and a two parties which belive in nothing but destruction: SLFP/JVp.
Now we live in fear.
