LossDial1,

FYI, As shown by his stupid articles, Nalin De Pissa has no knowledge about Buddhism.

What he has defined is his own version of 'Sinhalese Buddhism' which is very different from the Buddhism known to the rest of us. In short, this is the doctrine what he preaches.

Yuddham saranam gachchami.
Duthiyampi Yuddham saranam gachchami.
Thathiyampi Yuddham saranam gachchami.

I do not know whether you have ever read Nalin De Pissa's earlier readings. As a founder member of NSSP, he was the first Sinhalese to justify the self determination for Tamils. Later he took a hundred and eighty degree turn for different reasons.

I know what is wrong with that guy (and his wife too), but do not want to waste my time talking about this completely useless third rate academic.

It shows that the government is trying to take advantage of the oil price hike in the world market by increasing the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene the day after their prices had increased in the world market, the statement said.

This JVP frogs in the well never read papers, knows nothing about Internet, dont know English at all and always bark like complete idiots.

They still do not know GOSL increased fuel prices at a time crude oil price was DROPPING in the world market after a brief spike on Jan 3.

JVP is a plague/curse that is destroying slanka one step at a time.
If you love Slanka, destroy JVP before it destroys Slanka completely.

JVP is right to attack the govt. But they have missed a very vital point when attacking the govt.

In the Budget speech, the President promised not to increase the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene in future. See

http://www.lankanewspapers.com/news/2007/11/21191.html

He proposed to reduce the present 15 percent VAT on petrol to 5 percent and promised to remove the Excise Duty on petrol if the current price of crude oil standing at 97 US Dollars increased further. The kerosene and diesel prices will not be changed and the present levels will be maintained through a cross subsidy mechanism
