JVP attack fuel price hike..
JVP is playing double game to get the support of the people.
For the Budget, they are supporting the government..
When it comes to price hike, they are against..
How come is that?
Only Modayas can believe this..

Petrol in Pakistan Rs17/00 per litr
Malaysia Rs 18/00 per litr
In India it's Rs 48/00 per litr
In Sri Lanka it is Rs. 127/00 per litre
To be to fair towards Motta Raala regime, this information is wrong.
If I remember correctly both in India and Pakistan Petrol is slightly more expensive that what we find here. (Assuming equal PP rate)
In Malaysia, true its cheap, but its subsidized to promote the local vehicle manufacturing industry.
I do not blame Motta Raala for the price hike per se, which was largely beyond his control.
But I blame him for
(a) cheating people by lies like his government could reduce petrol prices by UNPLUGGING the world economy
(b) adding a huge tax component to petrol prices to drive war
If not for the massive WAR EXPENSES (I do not mean the defense expenses) we would be getting petrol by not more than Rs. 80-90 now even with all the other costs.

Shakti,
Come on man, in India Tamil is one of the 16 national languages and in Singapore it is one of the 4 national languages
In Singapore the national language is Malay!
English, Mandarin and Tamil are official languages but they are not national languages.
In India there is no national language as such but there are 18 official languages.
Article 346 of the Indian Constitution recognises Hindi in Devanagar script as the official language of central government India. The Constitution also allows for the continuation of use of the English language for official purposes. Article 345 provides constitutional recognition to 'official languages' of the union to include any language adopted by a state legislature as the official language of that state. In effect, there are 'official languages' at the state and center level but no one 'national language'. Until the Twenty-First Amendment of the Constitution in 1967, the country recognised 14 official regional languages. The Eighth Schedule and the Seventy-First Amendment provided for the inclusion of Sindhi, Konkani, Manipuri and Nepali, thereby increasing the number of official regional languages of India to 18 ? Wikipedia
I was talking about the national language, not the official language.
Thus, Sri Lanka holds the unique distinction of being the only country in the world to enshrine in its Constitution, Tamil as a National Language!

Damed,
Bon,p007,
Seems MR going to bring back JRJ version as the solution at last.UNP have to support it,India has, as itis there version
All governments make one round and come back to the same position. Even JVP when they get power they will have to sell power sharing & federalism to people.
All that hyperbole and humdrum is only until you come to power!
Mareesa,
Going by the vote count, most Sri Lankans are madayans!
