JVP attacks fuel price hike

The government increased the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene oil from Monday giving the excuse that the price of crude oil in the world market had increased very much. Though the government is unable to contain the wasteful expenditure of its ministers and tacitly allows bribery and corruption, it hastens to increase the price of fuel though the petroleum corporation still sells the stocks it had received some months back when the price of crude oil had not reached such levels, the JVP said in a statement yesterday (14).
It shows that the government is trying to take advantage of the oil price hike in the world market by increasing the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene the day after their prices had increased in the world market, the statement said.
The other day the price of rice also was increased again and the price hike of oil is putting the public from the frying pan to the fire. The Paddy Marketing Board was closed and a handful of traders are now controlling the entire rice market while the government too had given loans to paddy millers but a very large loan to the brother of a minister and another such loan to a minister who had an interest in the wholesale rice business, the statement said.
Prima also bought a very large stock of rice to manufacture animal feed recently but no other government in the world will allow anyone to use grains consumed by human beings as animal feed,
While the people are suffering under the yoke of the unbearable cost of living ministers who do not know how to manage their ministries are performing comical scenes about the cost of goods.
Therefore a permanent stop had to be made to the comical performances of both the UNP and SLFP led government and the current year should be dedicated to rid the country of both jokers, the statement said.

Heh..heh..I like when people like LOSS DIAL gets angry over things which they cannot understand. What annoys him here is not JVP's criticism on hiking petrol prices or its criticism about wasteful expenditure, but their refusal to help UNP to form a government.

How is life in Australia?? Better than Sri lanka. Eh?? Safe, nothing to worry about cost of living, increase of prices of essectial goods etc.
Life in Aus is not bad, I would say. However, I dare not to compare it with that in SL for different reasons. Cost of living is still a concern here. However, Australia is much safer than SL thanks to polices of both the government and the opposition. They never try to capitalize on sovereignty or territorial intergrety of the country for their political gains.
Why this sudden interest..any plans to come and settle down here? |

These JVP karayas are completely out of their minds. Once they say they want war at any cost and now crying petrol is expensive, rice is expensive!!
So what, you have to bear it and much more increase expected if you want war. These morons cannot understand that this is one of the heavy prices they have to pay to thrive on war politics.
If rice is expensive then go to Perera and Sons or other cake shops and eat cakes. If petrol is expensive then fly Mihin Air.
Oh... what a curse Lanka has done to have these guys...Preme and Ranjan should have finished them all in one shot! |

JVP the set with no proper policy's,make things difficult by organizing strikes and never come with solutions or proposals for national questions.
sole aim is to keep governing parties un balance and keep UNP away.
UNP will slap them one day. |

There is no need to blame JVP for what they have said for JVP is the result of rotten education of Slanka.
Further, they are playing to the masses who are asses. JVP knows well that life is easier on the other side.
SLFP has always adopted bonker economic policies and MR is no difference.
The junta of SLFP/JVP have a track record of ruining the economy.
Foolish asses don't deserve a better government. |
