in this political forum, Sinhalese outnumber Tamils only 2 : 1. But in Sri Lanka the ratio is 6 : 1. There are many Tamils here in LNP who have neve been to Sri Lanka

That means most Sinhalese dont care about the war / ethnic conflict to the same extent as Tamils do, reasons being Tamils make up 90% of victims. almost all Sinhalese i met in real life dont mention politics, even in my visit to Kandy no Sinhalese look at Tamils as different people. but only in this forum i see the real opinions of Sinhalese, and most Tamils get the impression any politically orientated Sinhalese is racist. No Sinhalese here in LNP talks about Tamils living as equal citizens in SL and actually mean it, they only mention defeating LTTE and dominating Tamils.

like i said before that the same way Jaffna Tamils have a responsiblity to unite all Tamils from Valikaamam to Pottuvil, it is the Sinhalese that have a responsiblity to try and make Tamils feel as Sri Lankan. So far there has not been much effort

if Tamils are Sri Lankans, why:

-Tamils are evicted from their houses, especially in Jaffna and East areas, but Sinhalese not. there was a LNP member called Thirumalai, he got evicted from his house in Mutur area.

- Why was Tsunami aid stolen from Tamils and diverted to Sinhalese areas and MP's bank accounts

- why do families of Sinhalese killed in war get compensation from GOSL, but not families of Tamil victims (civilians)

AnuD:

IF we all were hindus, Muslims or Christians, Tamils would not have survived 30 years even with this kind of killings.

The truth of the matter is If people like you truly followed Buddhism, This country would have been a Paradise.
There will be no ethnic conflict in the first place since Buddha
sees every human being as equal.

The Phony Monks Hijacked Buddhism for their own survival.
Thats why all these mess. Phony monks are the real threat
to Buddhism. When people see these phony Monks activity, they will think the same to Buddhism because these Phony men represent them.

trying to be fair .......

There are a majority with this good intentions but success will be low due to a few basic rules.

Minority issues cannot be solved in a democratic manner by elections or referendums by the majority: which is whats always talked of and even tried. The probability on numbers will not let it.

Cannot be constructive when people are not willing to listen to the other persons opinion, irrespective of its merit.

Being positive is a good intention but not a game plan and will not take you anywhere.

Eranthap:

Tamils and Sinhalas built a great culture in Polonnaruwa because they lived to their ideals. HIndu and Buddhist side by side.

but, after colonization they all began to respect to western ideology.

Now, every thing going bad.

One group can not live to buddhist ideals while the other group use everything for their advantage.

You look like a NGO who is looking for PROFIT out of this mayhem.

Why don't you apply that to Canada, USA, UK and Australia.

And give your response ?

You look like ....

This is one of the common problems. If you don't agree with the opinion then challenge the opinion not the person. If a persons opinion differs from GOSL he has to be a LTTE, Sudu Kotiya, Sinhala Kotiya or a NGO working for profit.

Very soon the Japanese will be termed the Kaha Kotiya.

So how do you address real issues when people are not willing to listen to any other opinion other than theirs?

You are also not a Sri lankan - tamil, just a so-called tamil born to Srilankan tamil parents.

You talk with your both ends.

Apply your same logics to say why Sinhala people are not allowed to settle in the EAST, as you scream about Sinhalization of East.

you are in Canada so go back to Lanka and preach your hatred there instead of eating your daily KFC buckets and writing crap on LNP. war outcome will affect your eating habbits, so you should not be in LNP
