LTTE strategy is to invite the Gvt to fight in their area, then cause economic damage to SL, force the Sinhala gvt to expose their political bankruptcy, expose racist unitary policies.

thanks, i wasn't in my Egyptian homeland, just staying in London over last few weeks:)
latest i heard from the 'liberated' East is that 100 Sinhalese people from the South have been settled in the so called former High Security Zone between Moothoor and Sampoor. They are living in the place where Tamils used to live until they were evicted recently. over 20,000 Tamils were living in Sampoor and surroundings until they were chased out by the GOSL army in August 2006. many are still living as refugees in Batti. World watches by while ethnic cleansing takes place there. We can expect many thousands of Sinhalese people to move in and settle in the area in the future.
This would not have happened if Karuna did not defect. Karuna has made so many Eastern Tamils suffer just to fill his ego and bank account.

I have supported the UNP for 50yrs I do not believe I am hearing this from the leader of the opposition.What a woo-sh a complete traitor you do not negotiate with rodents you eliminate them. Sri Lanka is for Sri Lankan's not for some coolies from Tamil Nadu.any leader who wants to negotiate away part of this Island has to be eliminated from Parliament and sent to Siberia.Only room for two languages on this Island Sri Lankan and English for business, all Tamil signs should be taken down minorities do not have rights to dictate to the majority they have the right to

As usual you decided to answer my question by just another question.
Piyal,
Can you also tell me how many thousands of tamils can be killed using the thousands of tons of arms and ammunition the GOSL bought during the CFA period.
Including the latest 'Charles' it's 1059 and counting, so I would say 'ONE THOUSAND'
You are complaining about the LTTE acquiring weaponry during the ceasefire but what was the need for the GOSL to stockpile weapons when it has no other known enemy in the entire world?
Probably the GOSL knew the list of weapons LTTE was collecting, and, hey, arms business is always profitable for the GOSL,.... no matter whether there is a war or not.
The GOSL can buy weapons to kill tamils but the LTTE can't accumulate weapons to defend the tamils! Is that your view?
I have no problem in defending Tamils, but unfortunately, They don't defend Tamils if they blow up Colombo, rather, they allow GOSL to arrest more and more Tamils.

'Their area' is where GOSL has no access, and are skirting around fighting to enter for that last 11 months without much success!!
East area, as explained many times, withdrawn by LTTE without much blood, but claimes as victory by GOSL!

Isn't that because Prima was constantly increasing their price ?
Because the price of wheat flour is increasing in the world market ?
I am not an economist, but I don't see a huge connection between the cost of living to the war. The war has been in Sri Lanka for almost 30 years, and the price hike was there even with the CFA,
I think all the price hike is due to the Oil prices and other price hikes in the world market. Since Sri Lanka is not a 'producing country' it has to depend upon all other countries to provide food,. So the price hike. In terms of certain things like Rice, Potato, I've heard that there is a monopoly in private buyers, and sellers who control the price of the goods.
GOSL has definitely failed in controlling the prices, but it's not necessarily because of the war.

Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva today ordered Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse not to search residences between 9 pm to 6 am unless there is a valid reason. He also instructed the authorities to permit the parking of vehicles on either side of the road between Collpity and Parliament.
