What do you think has convinced the government to withdraw from CFA in a hurry like this. Had this happened before the budget, we would have thought that as a move to contain JVP. Had this dscision been made 7 days ago, we would have taken that as a measure to curb any outcries to oust Dr. Mervin Silva. But..why now?

If LTTE continued the peace talks and joined democratic politics then they can survive and serve the Tamils.

first, TE will NEVER be a democracy. The LTTE will NEVER allow another party alongside it. There will NEVER be any other political party other than LTTE until they are removed.
Second, the LTTE is not a force politically - it is a FARCE!
LTTE is not a political party. remember that.

Americans are not dumb south asians to accept a woman just bcos her husbabd was a leader earlier.
IOWA is still old - fashioned and not progreesive as in Sri Lankans. So, they think, only a man can do the job. Sri Lanka has allowed Gays and bisexuals to be prime ministers and Ministers. |

My personal openion sound crazy to you. However I think some of the foreign inteligence agencies has given the green light (or perhaps persuaded )the GOSL to take out Velu nana.
Developing world political scenario is not appriciative of Long lasting gang leaders. Most IC members may be thinking that Velu is THE obstacle to peace in Sri Lanka.
Velu never lost the control of east and Jaffna same time. This is the time he is experiencing that. LTTE is no longer strong enough or 'politically' correct to delever anything to Sri Lankan Tamils. As far as Velu is in the leadership no IC member will negotiate or talk with LTTE.
They need a moderate educated democratic Tamil leader. Perhaps a vellahla one they feel comfortable to deal with.
(Remember US and UK plans of electing Benazir as the prime minister for show and getting the dirty work done by Mushraf??)
I think Velu nana knew this. Thats why he was systemically 'eleminating' Vellahla Moderate educated and Democratic leadership such as Amirthalinkam, Neelan and Raviraj!!
Eveyone has time to go when they are a spent force. 2008 is Velu's!
GOSL should be careful about taking out Velu, without weakning LTTE. Hope they know what they are doing!

Nobody will buy this crap least of all LTTE. You cannot talk to people who do not honor their word. Talk with the GoSL is a waste of time. It has been proven time and time again. |
