MR want indo-lanka accord and the IPKF back to fight the ltte again,,
Main items in the Indo-Lanka Accord are
1. Tamil also as an Official Languages in Tamil speaking ares
2. Merger of N-E Provincial Councils.
MR has clearly demonstrated that he is against No 2. above and his cabinet minister Dew Gunawardene confessed that Tamil Official Language was not implemented during the last 20 years.
it would be a huge step for India if India to get involved directly only for the purpose to fight the ltte after 20 odd years of signing the indo-lanka accord,,
certainly , it is not going to be easy for India,, but it might try to solve the issue by lifting the ban on ltte with some conditions,,
under the current circumstances , it is only india can bail out lanka,, if India wants to involve directly why encourage lanka to cancel the CFA?? one can only come to a conclusion that they want to fight with the ltte while the SLMM is out,,if it is the plan of gosl and india,,
it would be silly if india ask the ltte to come back to the indo-lanka accord and in return they will lift the ban on ltte,, after so long ,,

Govt. did this to get the support from JVP (may be a promise during budget voting) for their short term survival. But on the long run this is going to be disaster.

For some reason, LNP LTTErs think that LTTE did not attack because of the CFA. :)
They are right :):)
Now LTTE will attack on civlian buses in Kebathigollawa. Suicide bombers will flat Colombo.

It is revealed now that the arrested suspected assailant of United National Party (UNP) MP, T. Maheswaran is a member of state intelligence service. His name is Thomas Collin Valentine alias Wasanthan.

Wasanthan is a long time residence of Colombo and worked as a bodyguard of Minister Douglas Devananda while being a member of Ealam People's Democratic Party (EPDP). Later he joined the state intelligence wing and worked there for five years.
Meanwhile, L. Dharmasiri, a security officer of MP Maheswaran who is now in hospital due to gun shot injuries says that the suspected gunman is a former security official of Minister Devananda. Dharmasiri shot at the assailant as soon as he saw he shot at the MP. He later recognized the assailant at the hospital although he did not identify him. When 'Lanka-e-News' enquired from Police Media Spokesman DIG N.K. Ilangakoon about the information that the suspect is an EPDPer connected to state intelligence, he said tht he had no such information.
DIG Ilangakoon said that a statement had not been recorded so far from the suspect and it could be done perhaps today (02). 'Lanka-e-News' learns that the gunman was identified as Tholar (Comrade) Johnson and Tholar Collin within the EPDP.

Hope there will not be another attempted murder by a sinhala jathika weeraya... like rajiv attempted murder...withnessed by millions on TV....never happened to a visiting PM of a country in any part of the world

Parliamentarian T. Maheswaran?s security officer L. Dharmasiri speaking to the Daily Mirror from his hospital bed alleged that Mr. Maheswaran was shot dead by one of his former security officers.
The suspect identified as Vasanthan, was admitted to the National Hospital in a critical condition and kept under heavy police and army protection, hospital sources said.
His national identify card carries the name Valentine with his place of residence as Jaffna.
?I saw him firing at Sir. I shouted and fired back at him. He ran away firing at me and I too fell over. However I was able to identify him at the hospital,? Mr. Dharmasiri said.

so you love india?? what about an indian army or indian naval base in colombo for the treatment india do for MR??
not so long ago (3months ago) subramaniya swamy said,, india should send the troops only if SL agree for naval or army base is allowed in colombo,,PERMANENTLY!
