Douglas Devananda killed BBC reporter Nimalrajan in Jaffna. After repeated reminders the police arrested EPDP second in command and let him on bail, and he absconded the bail.
The 'Tamil' suspect in this case too will either be substituted by another who confesses to his association with LTTE or be let on bail. The investigation may even drag for years or decades as in the cases of the killings of Kadirkamar, Pararajasingam or Raviraj or other hundred victims.
The real killers are guaranteed impunity from any prosecution and the murders will continue unabated. |

My condolences goes out to familiy and friends of Maheswaran. May you rest in peace.
I haven't been active on this forum for a while. This was because there were too many people trying to push their racist, sick ideas instead of opening up. Others were more moderate but too much living in the past.
I see this tendancy hasn't changed at all. And that's actually the story of Sri Lanka and Sri Lankans.
People with power, Tamils, Sinhalas, Muslims use history, religion and fake stories to remain in power. What the followers don't realise is that these people in charge will drag you through the misery world they have create for you while they themselves live in luxury till they die.
The internet has given power to the common man to reach more people than he ever could. So I urge some of you to think before you post.
If you have to choice between good and bad, why in hell would you chose bad? And the funny thing is, you DO HAVE A CHOICE.
On the internet you can be whatever you want to be, because you will be only judged by the words you write. So why not write about things that could reunite us, or things that would bring peace to us all instead of bragging why your people should have it all?

And please remember 99,99% of the people you want to represent don't even agree with your points (doesn't matter if you are a Tamil, Sinhalese, Muslim, American whatever).
Sometimes you have to stop acting like you are representing your people and start telling what it is that you want and why you deserve to have it, and most importantly what you are going to give to get it.

Racism is a sickness indeed. It is a effective vent for irrational feelings and frustrations. Here you see a democratic Tamil politician being killed. He obviously risked his life being part of a Sinhala dominated party like the UNP but he beleived that electoral and democratic means were best. Even someone like him has his corpse spat upon by those racists who claim that they only want to destory the LTTE. Is it not crystal clear to anyone but those racists themselves that what they desire is the complete annhilation of the Tamil race altogether? If you are a Tamil from Sri Lanka how would you feel? Safe? Safe with the GOSL, safe with the LTTE? What is the alternative for Sri Lankan Tamils? The best choice obviously is to leave the country. We have in SL a situation of genocide. |

Unlike Websurfer who addressed the forum as Sri Lankans, Vimukthi is RACIST. He identified Sri Lankans as Tamils and Sinhalas.
HE should notice whether the US people are addressed by their ethnic identity or as Americans. SO, Vimukthi is preaching RACISM and ETHNIC HATRED.

will now SL police make arrest the Leader of EPDP for killing of Maheswaran???
