I disagree with you on the SL identity- 3 provinces (properly demarked) -but ONE SRI LANKAN IDENTITY- honeestly -majority of the countries in modern world operate this way!
Reducing number provinces to three is a very good idea. But,that should not be to satisfy the communalist needs of different groups.
then the next thing is as DEWEY, says, we need to cut the Central govt DRASTICALLY.
right now 225 in the Central govt,then on top of that how many provincial govt and not to forget municipal and other small govts and authorities. |

Maheswaran supposed to be a moderate according to everybody.
The killer also had a pistol with him and supposed to be from LTTE -pistol gang who lived in Wattala for 05 years. |

| Overall it is a sad day for Tamil Community when remaining front line intellectuals are gunned down this way.But I guess Sri Lanka too lost a person who could have enhanced racial harmony.I can only express my sorrow to the family of Late Mr.Maheswaran and disgust at GOSL for not providing enough security to the vulnerable. |

In page 32 you posted the link to the picture of Maheswarns daughter..I thought it is worth mentioning a post by a Sinhala Gentleman under the same picture..
I think We should stop fighting in this forum over a dead man..Read this people..it is still the New year!
The little girls eyes says it all. what a sad picture to see. Will the killers ever dream of their children being placed in a similar situation? Will they ever wish a similar scenario for their loved ones. It is time that we all live in harmony as one family....no matter whether we are SInhalese, Muslim, Burgher or Tamil. We dont want to see similar pictures anymore........cos it burns the heart of any normal human being. No matter which party Mr Maheswaran belonged to, today we are all loosers. lets hope this new year brings all communities together. My deepest sympathies little girl...and to the rst of the family.
There are many sinhalese and Tamils in Sri Lanka and around the world who hate this ugly war and killiings of innocents.
We just have to get-together and show VP and GOSL that the weapons are not the solution to whatever the problem we have..

What did youn think when the Tigers relocated them from the East to North?
When Tigers do something of that nature they have a long term plan which you modayas cannot envisage anytime.
By the time you realise the tactics involved,it would be too late for you to counter it.
That is what is happening in the East now.
No point in crying.

It is not the Security.
Mr. Kadiragamar is supposed to have a security team of 120, yet he was killed.
Both the Raviraj and Maheswaran were Hindus, Moderates and supposed to have talked about Jaffna Tamils.

tigers have long term Plans.
But that works for GOSL too.
they attacked AAB, GOSL got new hardware and Ambattan Became a Maamanithar.
Tigers attacked MaviAru and lost the whole east. First tigers did not get East by war. they just occupied it and lost it.

That is what is happening in the East now.
But, tamilnut scream saying Sinhalization of East.
