My source is in Trinco.
They also have heard the rumor going around in comm-sets. But no proof or verifiable info.
According to him,it can be suspected that something severe has happened, as LTTE usual communication has gone dead silent for the last 12 hours.

Thought you are smart....did not you read what I quoted on one of my posts?
The Sri Lankan Defence ministry quoted the police as saying that the gunman was injured when the MP?s guards fired back after coming under attack.
However its being suggested that Sri Lankan government authorities may coerce the suspect or the entire arrest may be a drama to pin blame on others.
Hmm...this is what called a game.

Read a nice posting -either on defencenet or defencewire
maybe here (unlikely) -i dont remember.
despite the apparent strength & size India has complex fault-lines (ethnicity-language-religion-caste ) & therefore much more fragile than meets the eye. The contributor cites the sikhs as an example. One ethnic group -One language -two religions -two complex caste systems -determined by the two religions! very convincing.
This has massive implications for SL!
I agree with you ours is a much simpler-smaller society & does not need all these complex political structures-like India
But reality is that the 3 diff ethnic groupings have to be recognized .
I propose :-)))!! that 3 provinces where the 3 groups have an absolute majority of the 3 groups. And a kind of quasi-fed system. Foreign Affairs-immigration-Defence entirely Central. Centre to be lean. centre allocates resources to the 3 provs based on two indexes.
1.Population 2. A reasonable current development index for each prov.-like the HDI used by UN
Rest is left to the 3 provinces.
Base it on the US system - Centre -Prez & maybe 15 Ministers. Provs -Gov + 10 ministers-
Must have very strict laws covering governanance
Whew!.... I'm already sweating! :-)
