When your beloved love Ranil visited L.A. as the Prime Minister, he only bothered to meet with his trusted cronies and threw couple of parties with lots of liquor in a grand hotel. But when Ranil visited the temple for a ceremony organized for him, he had time to stay only 10 minutes.
Yes, President has NOT stayed in the Presidential suite at the hotel. His room has been negotiated by the Consulate General Office in L.A, with the help of Ven. Piyananda of Crenshow Buddhist vihara, for about $700 per night.
The auditorium and the ceremony, where he addressed more than 1000 Sri Lankan expatriates, has cost nothing for the government as Sri Lankan businessmen in L.A. have fully sponsored it. |

Dunno, this is all hearsay but I suppose I?ll be corrected. I think he came into feudal favor under Queen Bandaranaike?s mother, Srimavo. They needed a court astrologer to determine the auspicious dates and times - especially around elections (seriously). If your astrologer isn?t loyal they may help your enemies and omigod. What Mr. Silva lacks in competence, he makes up for in loyalty, and he is able to arrange these things. For his fealty to the court, Mr. Silva is rewarded with an outsize ego and general immunity to justice. As such, he acts like a thug and a boor. As for the Honorary Doctorate, as far as I?ve heard the fake degree is in Acupuncture, from some obscure college. Perhaps mail order.
They also tried to reward him with a Parliament seat, but he lost the election. The President can simply appoint a list to certain seats, and he was on it. Then he was appointed Deputy Minister of Labour Relations and Madam?s Astropunctural Peon. When his son smashed the wrong club he was demoted, and then the Queen slipped him in again a few weeks ago. Then his son hospitalized policemen at the Taj.

im not surprised at this PUNNAKKU comment. This is what i have been trying to tell Hor balu MR ANUS licking Gamiya but he doest seem to understand.
Leaders of country spend MILLIONS and travel to foreign countries to meet leaders of those countries and get things done. Not to socialize, visit temples and gain CHEAP political Milage. There are plenty of temples in SL to visit.
Im gald to know that RW did not have any big functions or wasted time having social visits. That is not the job of leaders visiting foreign countries. I remember two or three years ago when the Indian FM was in DC. He was there just four days before Indian independance day. Some of my Indian Collegues tried to get him to come to Indian independace day celebrations in NY. but he politely turned the request down saying he had to be back in India.
A first class ticket to the US from Srilanka costs at least $9,000. most of the 65 member Delegation went in First Class. you have the simpel arithmatic ability to do the numbers right? MR stayed at a Presidental Suite at the Ritz. This i can confirm because my company has had many events there. Just three weeks ago - we had an event there.
Do you have the slighest clue as to how much it costs to put up over 65 people at the Ritz? ALL AT TAX PAYER MONEY.
You are making a big fuss about a monk telling you President only spent 700 dallas, in LA. First of all - is MR in the habbit of telling Monks how much he spends a night?

The FACT OF THE MATTER is every single request to meet leaders of countries were REJECTED!! Having nothing to do - he undertook this trip to LA just for CHEAP political publicity at HUGE costs to the SL tax payer!!NOTHING ELSE.

The Only thing im made a mistake was on the DATES when Chandi malli (MRs - Contract thug) was KILLED. The rest is there for every one to see.
chandi malli was MRs Contract thug and leader of the Gang which terrorized the south. The gang was made up of Army Deserters and was involved in Killings, rape, torture, arson and ofcourse politicial intimidation.
As Gamiya soo OPENLY admits - chandi malli is VERY VERY CLOSELY connected to MR.

Oh really? can you show me where i lied? I repeat what i said. During the recent past - EVERYTIME MR contests alone he loses his OWN district which he has represented for the past 35 to a young politician from Colombo - Sajith Preme
1. In the 2000 General elections, MR contests alone and loses.
2. 2001 - MR contests alone and LOSES.
3. 2004 MR contests with the JVP and Wins.
4. In 2005 - MR contests with the help of the JVP + LTTE and wins.

I don't think even the President knows how much would a room cost, unless it is very high. Embassy staff arranges the logistics. If President should know all the details, good luck. The monk, Ven Piyananda, has been the one who has arranged the hotel along with the Consulate General. I heard the owner of the hotel came to the hotel personally to inspect about Sri Lankan President's stay.
These are not big deals, but when pathetic morons like you bring up false allegations, people have to talk these nonsense.

Whom did Ranil meet when he was in L.A. as the PM? He vacationed in L.A. and San Diego. He participated in a UNP fund raiser, the money which never reached Sirikotha. His appointed man in L.A, Consulate General Pradeep Gunawardena, threw couple of grand parties in a grand hotel for his cronies, not any government leader, using government money.

This i remember very well was done when he was the OPPOSITION LEADER. NOT when he was PM. It was not an official visit that turned into a joy ride. So NO govt money was used. Please give me a newspaper article which state that this was an official visit. i have clearly shown you how MRs visit was an official visit and i have given you a newspaper artcle which till today has not been contested by any govt source.
