Police investigating the death of constable Ariyaratne, due to gunshot injuries, at Fort Court complex on Sunday, believe that he may have accidentally pulled the trigger of his T-56 assault weapon while taking a call on his mobile phone.
`We are probing this aspect,` a spokesperson said. But the possibility of Ariyaratne committing suicide could not be ruled out, he said. According to investigators, the policeman had received 14 calls on his mobile phone but none had been answered.
