.A ground offensive, launched by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) in Naakarkoayil in Northern Forward Defence Line (FDL), backed by heavy artillery and mortar fire, was withdrawn following one-hour long stiff resistance put up by the Liberation Tigers of Tamileelam (LTTE) Sunday night at 11:30 p.m., LTTE field officials in Vanni said. Claiming that they inflicted heavy casualties on the SLA, the Tigers said they have seized weapons and ammunitions including Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) Launchers and Light Machine Guns (LMG). Three LTTE fighters were killed in action.

One RPG, two AK-LMGs, two T-56 rifles, two T-56-2 rifles, 6 RPG shells, three 40 mm mortar shells, forty-two AK-magazines, four AK drum magazines, 14 hand grenades and several other rounds were seized from the SLA, according to the LTTE.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan military officials in Colombo said that one soldier was killed and seven wounded in the clash and claimed that 10 Tigers were killed in the overnight clash. The SLA said the Tigers had launched the offensive.

All these front line fighting forces are well trained and experience commandos.
Slowly one by one are dying/getting injured. once these guys are out, SLDF morale will be very low and then it will be just like chasing a heard of cows out of Jaffna and other areas. |

Getting higher marks in exams is not something surprising or new to me. That's how things supposed to be. You are supposed to perform with high standards in extremely competitive environments and should be able to reach beyond others even cann't imagine. In fact I wonder why others can not do the same with better facilities than Jaffna.

I do not think so.....then again, i do not know much about it. i left SR when i was like 11, so I was not old enough to understand even if they had any differences......i don't give a damn, whether a person is a tamil muslim or sinhalese, let along up and down thing as long as he or she is a normal human being |
