I thought It is Bangalore.

TamilNAdu has only 64% of literacy. Have they seen computers or even heard of computers ?

This Man's hatred of Tamils is so much that he cant accept Tamils doing well anywhere. Unfortunately for him, Tamilnadu is one of the most industrialized states in India. The IT highway at Chennai is a 6 lane 40kms road with huge buildings of IT companies on both sides. Each company has about 100 big buses (not to mention all types of other vehicles) transporting staff at all times.

Although Colombo has good potential to develop this industry, for every Indian city that becomes expensive, there are tens of 1000s of other towns that are already coming up. In South India, specially Tamilnadu, every district has Engineering colleges, universities, and numerous schools where graduates are being churned out every year by the thousands. Tamilnadu itself has 21 universities and 255 higher engineering institutions. In fact IT parks are being set up in so many districts.

Anud might also like to know that the IT work force in India is dominated by Tamils and Telegus.

The literacy rate he gave is the national average and not Tamilnadu's. Again India's most literate state (Kerala) is also one of India's least economically developed. Tamil nadu's literacy rate has always been higher than the national average by over 10.

Whether you like it or not, progress is happening at a tremendous pace in Tamilnadu and in India as a whole. Sad news for you AnuD. You might also like to know that the IT revolution started at Chennai and if it wasnt for Bangalore having a cooler climate, Chennai would have remained the No.1 IT destination in India. The available local talent at Bangalore is far less compared to Tamilnadu. Bangalore scored because people from all over India preferred to come to a place with a better climate and in any case, most of the IT sector at Bangalore was dominated by the local Tamils.

Berty, Moby,

how do you rate the latest activities of the Karuna Tamils.

http://www.dailymirror.lk/2007/10/01/front/05.asp

It said persons in the TMVP/Karuna group?s custody were often severely abused physically and threatened with death. The group continued to extort money from local businesses, and was reportedly involved in general harassment of civilians.

AnuD,

all top Tech outsourcing cities need to have stable and secure Internet service providers.

SLT itself is among the worst providers i have ever come across and sadly enough, they are lightyears away from China, India, South Korea.

Another thing that hits domestic businesses badly is poor level .lk domain services.

Much to expensive with $100 p.a. http://www.101domain.com/lk.htm compared to $ 9 for a regular .com .net .org domain.

Not to mention the utterly slow response time due to poorest server and connection quality.

Poor Mihin Lanka Airline can't even get online booking or a functioning feedback e-mail account up and running.

IT in SL is at least around 5 years behind most modern countries.

Freedom1:

I think, here they are talking about software development, I hope it will go beyond that.

My concern is as SANSARE said, how the high temperature and the environmental factors affect.

But, it won't be high tech manufacturing. they are talking about software development.

The entire SL Computer and Internet industry is depending on stable and fast connections, a well educated and reliable workforce and foreign experts who need to feel comfortable.

Ado,sinhala modaya!
Who cleans Arabs toilets.
You are stinking like the toilets you clean.

Mr. Brown,

It is time you pull the plug out of this so called National Leader NALE...

We don't need his hatred in this forum...

How long forum should tolerate this kind of language?

Like any LTTEr , these people will never be civilised and moderate..

As one Norwegian Professor said, LTTE thugs can't comprehend the fact of living with other Sri Lankans in this country..

There mind is locked on hatred.

Only way to end the suffering of these LTTE liberators is to lock them up in jails forever...
