Tigeress19:
do you people like to see the ltte taking part in the main stream politics presenting the Tamils perspective?

Yes...

Nepalese Maoists did that. There is no reason why LTTE can't.

And if the state protection of Tamils are the same as that received prior to 83. What should the Tamils do? Jump into the sea as JR suggested!

Looks like many have taken xception to
MR speaking in Sinhalese and referring to Budhism
and invoking the blessings of Triple Gem etc. etc.

Most speak in their own languages at UN

Sarkozy in French, Putin in Russian , Merkel in Geman
all Latinams in Spanish ,The Chinese in Chinese, Japs
in Jap, Arabs in Arabic , VP (not in UN yet! ) in Tamil, so on and so on.

Moslems invoke Allah , many 'christian' leaders (including Bush) have ended their speeches with 'God Bless You'

UN is (at least supposed to be) the ultimate democratict instituton.

The poor guy spoke in the language he's most familiar with. UN has a fantastic simultaneous interpretation service

When Sri Lanka gets a Tamil Hindu Prez he will speak in Tamil and maybe give the Hindu equivalent of god bless u

Shouldn't Sri Lankans be thankful that he spoke in Sinhalese than trying to speak in English and sound stupid.

He already looks stupid with that Halloween costume.
