Just to add what raigamakolla says.
In Sri Lanka nobody (even the most extremists) critisise Hindu and Muslim priests. This is because these two groups never put their hands into politics and confine their activities to religious. They know their limits.
Only Buddhist and Christian priests face the criticism.
This is unavoidable because both these groups have willingly put their hands in to politics.
If they too were confine their work to religion, as their religious leaders have preached, nobody would have worried about them. (Neither Buddha nor Jesus advocated priests entering to politics)

Imagine a family with 2 kids (the current trend) - no chance of one becoming a Sameneere.
Most Sameneera's are from difficult backgrounds and the temple gives them food and education.
It is the duty of the Temple and the lay folks to assure the protection of the childhood, which I am sure is taken care of by the Vinaya texts.

If nationality had been taught simply as SRI LANKAN ?. I see, those day?s it was still Ceylon.

These kids are sweet,
Ordaining any body in any religion before the age of 18 is a crime. Although, Lord Buddha, ordained Rahula at the tender age 7, due to the circumstances it may have suited him then.,
Why do parents want to grab the innocence of a child this age?? they're hardly aware of religion let alone, being set up in a Religious Institution. Let them play first, then respect them with a choice of their own. |

In Tibet and other parts of the world, the Buddhist authorities put the children to some kind of test, who ever passed that tests are ordained.
in srilanka, the intention for these kind of ordain without any formal tests and interrogation is to MAXIMIZE the Buddhist population.
the children will be taught about Buddhism before they even get to know the world. when they reach the age of knowing the real world, they will have difficulties coming out of the way they were living^^if they did not like the way they were living.
so the conclusion is,,,
1)some of them will be good Buddhist.
2)all of them will be Buddhist, all of their life.
3)majority of them will be anti-Tamil.
their survival depends on cheating, lying and deceiving!! |

More than 60 young children were ordained as Samaneras to mark the 38th birthday of Ven, Kolonnawe Sumangala Thera at Devuramvehera in Pannipitiya yesterday. Two Samaneras are seen here with their 'Pindapatha' bowls prior to a Sanghika dana which followed the ordination ceremony.
Just look at the beauty of these two innocent children, just look at their faces, do they deserve to lead such a life?
Will any of you ever do this to your children?
Those who talk in favor of this brutal act, have you ever given at least one of your children to the Monk community respecting the tradition in order that they get merits as Buddhists would call it?
As long as others do it, you justify the cause.
This is exactly what that Vanni hippo is doing to those people. Those who live outside in luxury justify the cause and those poor village children get killed.
These Seminarians are in their playful age, they love to go to school, play with other kids, do sports, etc. Are they allowed to do that?
Those so called Buddhist Bikkhus are number one SODS, they Sodomize these poor innocent young children. This Pannipitiya Sod is presented with 60 virgin young boys for his 38th Birthday. This is some what like giving 60 chickens to a hungry fox.
It is high time that the UN should intervene and save these children from these bold headed Buddhist Bikkhu Sods who continue to abuse these young children in the name of Buddhism.
The village idiots go and dump all kinds of food to the temple for the Bikkhus to wolf down, and once they turn into fat pigs, lazy doing nothing, the big fat bold headed sods will definitely need these young Samanera monks for all their needs and other purposes, so they persuade those same village idiots to sacrifice their children as well.
Our country will never come out of all these mess as long as these dirty, lazy, racist, Buddhist Bikkhus are allowed to do what they do. These are the morons who destroyed our country right from the beginning. As Sir John Kothalawela once said, these Bikkhus deserve to get TAR applied on their heads.
All these religious priests, the so called guardians of the religions (bloody crooks) are actually the ones who are pushing the religions down the drain. Out of all, the WORST among them are the so called big fat bold headed Buddhist Bikkus, specially the Sri Lankan type.
The main problem is, most of the so called Buddhists in Sri Lanka are idiots. When they see an orange or yellow cloth/robe anywhere, even wrapped on a broomstick, they start bending into different shapes to worship them.
Given a chance, I will not only apply tar on their bold heads but also on their buttocks, and then push the brush inside.
These so called Buddhist Bikkhus and all the other religious priests such as PooSaries, Bishops, Lebbes, Mullas, etc are not only destroying the religions but also the countries. They are the main cause for most of the wars, as we see even in Sri Lanka. They should be made to stand on a line and shot like dogs. The best thing a democratic country can do is, put these Sods in a cage (jail).

Yes because he is not a Buddhist or a Sinhalese.
'Thattaya bashing' is always such an interesting hobby for some of us but even we get tired doing it too often.
For us Demala bashing is always an interesting hobby but we won't get tired. News saying 'somany Demals were wiped out' going keep us happy till we get the next news item.

In Islam they do the circumcision as soon as a child is born.
In Christianity they baptize within few months the child was born.
