If 2005 elections were fair, 5th Executive President would be Ranil?
20-09-2007 4.00pm
The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (Mahajana) Wing convener, Mangala Samaraweera seconded Sripathi Sooriyaarachchi proposal to set up a Parliamentary Select Committee to inquire on the alleged deal between the President and the LTTE, today (September 20th).
Many a heated word was exchanged as the newly sworn Parliamentarian Basil Rajapaksa harshly interrupted the speech.

Basil Rajapaksa had stood up and loudly denied Mr. Samaraweera?s accusations of meeting the LTTE and giving them money after meeting them in Singapore.

However, the government managed to add yesterday?s amendments to Sripathi Sooriyaarachchi proposal amid much objections of the opposition. The amended proposal is to be taken to debate after Sripathi Sooriyaarachchi proposal.

According to today?s proposal, the issues regarding the existence of such a deal, the parties involved, the payers, the receivers, the amount of the deal are to be debated.

In his speech, The SLFP (M) convener said that this deal, which involved a huge amount in cash, had an immense effect on the results of the 2005 Presidential Elections.

He said that the President was doing favours for the LTTE before the elections and is still continuing to do so. He added that Mahinda Rajapaksa is in a position that is not rightfully his by using the power of money and should resign immediately.

When looking at the results of the 2005 Presidential election, the President won the election by the majority of 1,87,786 votes. If he obtained 28,633 less, the votes would have required a re-counting.

However, the final result would have been very different if the citizens in Jaffna used their vote, Mr. Samaraweera said. He further added that citizens in Jaffna boycotted the election and had a fair play taken place, the 5th executive President of Sri Lanka would be Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Mangala Samaraweera speech was continuously met with loud interruptions and obscene words from the government parliamentarians.

Amid the chaos, Mangala Samaraweera said that the government Ministers were acting like a troop of dancing monkeys now that a new representative of the Rajapaksa Brothers Company had joined Parliament.

Wish-list (or is it Vish-list) of a Peelamist:

- Peelam Pie in the sky
- Sri Lankans in disarray
- Bombs and explosion everywhere in SL
- A shattered Sri Lankan economy
- TAF Takaran getting upgraded
- Sea Tigers having a Naval base 1400 miles south of SL
- All opponents dead
- Velu as Don Corleone for life

Only this

Peelam Pie in the sky

should be allowed to remain on the list, on the grounds of sympathy.

Most exile SINHALESE are supporting percy because they want to 'FCK' the SRI LANKA & our people.
Most tamil diaspora support Prabakaran because they want to 'FCK' the SL tamils.
we cant expect any good to SL from a corrupt leader who is earning money in the name of war.
JATHIKA SABAWA is headed by 2 leaders who dont have any corruption charges against them. They can make SL next Singapore.
