A Muslim MP died...so his seat must be filled with a Muslim...
This is Sinhala Buddhist Sri Lanka where they can do anything they like because of sovereinty. This is the only country where the constitution allows them to pass discriminatory laws against the ethnic or religios minorities, there is no safeguard in the 1972 Constitution. They also included 'Unitary State' in their Constitution but if you point out these injustices you are branded as 'racists'.

You must be commended for your master skill to turn any story to a line that fits your color... thats why I suggested that you take up Rambutan's role... indeed, if MR finds that you are such a loyal disciple, you may be offered a position in the Parliament and you can replace Rambutan....
What you rationalized may all be true... but, shouldn't the country's president have other an obligation to look impartial? Basil already has all the privileges he needs... this appointment is clearly nepotism... Yamunal is correct...

lolz..Well as I told you the other day, I like rambutan (as you people call him)...u may not like him, but he has a spine to speak his mind..not like any before him..
Nepotism or no nepotism..this is politics..where you move your players with a final goal in mind..
LTTE do that too..why do you think then VP brought back Charles Anthony and reportedly handed him the rudimentary Airwing of the LTTE amidst huge protests by Tamil Silva and the factions..? Fatherly love??

I do not know about CA story. It was created by Sinhala media, I believe... but, it is interesting to know that GOSL is following leads from LTTE...
