Can you please make arrangements to issue a receipt to all.
Some might require it for Tax deduction purpose in their countries. I know we are not a registered charitable organization but I am sure some kind of official receipt would help and it is responsibility.
i think it is not worth the effort, even if you get a receipt, the refund you may get as a result of charity is very negligible. To do that MR Brown has to register as Charitable organization. Again that has to be accepted like Revenue Canada
or other Govt as eligible. It is not worth the effort i think. |

a registered charitable organization is not deductible?
Oh no! If it's registered, Of course you could!
But in this case, we can't claim it as Tax Deductible, unless it's affiliated wiht a Registered Chairity Org.

Poor family might think they were a whole lot happier living in the small shelter they live in now!!

Mait,
Don't you think it is our responsibility to issue a receipt to acknowledge receipt of donation amount.
I know Paypal gives a Transaction #. Will that suffice.

The prob is you were specifically ASKED to go in the front seat with the driver!!
It might be comofortable in the back seat but apparently Ruwani is scared to do that while Suresh is out of town.

It cant be tax deductable since I have no non profit tax ID to give out. Even if I had one, it will be valid only for US donors.

No it is not, you guys are already doing excellent job by committing your valuable time and influence. We all know how much we donated.
Also MR Brown said he will post the names of donated people ( LNP Name)
i think it is more than enough, what we have to focus now is how we can get the best for the family with the money we have collected. i like the idea of setting up a bank account so they get some monthly payment.
