Mrbrown it may a be a good idea to let the posters know when to stop as the total amount has been probably raised.
i hope you would be sensitive to this, so that future contributors for other causes can continue to do so.
there are other causes that we may need to contribute. so lets stop the donations now! and work to build the house or give the money to the family soon. thanks |

Since they live in a poor neighborhood, buying a ready made house with a land won't cost more than 120,000 SLR which is 1000 USD. Put the rest of the money in bank, I hope in the excess of 200,000 SLR, so that they can get 10,000 SLR/month as interest which will give them lifeline for them until those kids come to age.
good idea.
As Bhairav said we can buy a house from the same area.
Better not to spend money on Temp house. It's a waste of money. Go for the permanent one.

I agree with Bahi,
They need some way to take care of their lives.
It's better to make a better house/buy one for them than just a temporary shelter, and then deposit the rest in a bank.

The way I see it this four kids need to go back to school and they do not have any steady income to concentrate just study and being kids. We should not stop helping them just a building a house but building a home. We should help them to build a home that they can grow like normal children.
This reminds me of the saying: 'Give a man a fish, he will eat it tonight, give a man a fishing rod, he will eat a life time.'
I agree with you, we need to help them in someway take care of themselves. |
