Initially, LTTE and GOSL agreed to not to do any fighting in MADHU area.
As soon as the festival was over, in charge of MADHU, who ever he is has given permission to LTTE to install Arillery guns there and operate.
This is not Madu area. This is south of Mannar.

AnuD,
In the Aljazeera video (part !) colombo Campus, Political Science Prof. Jayadeva Uyangoda while talking about JHU says 'AT THE DEATH BED OF BUDDHA'
What is wrong with that? I didn't get you.

It is a coincidence that majority Sinhalese are Buddhists. But Buddhism has nothing to do with ethnic conflict in sri Lanka. JVPers are adopting their version of Carl Marx. Then are you going to scold Carl Marx for North-East conflict?

Sri Lanka's military said it seized a key coastal territory that served as a supply point for Tamil Tiger rebels in the north on Sunday, a day after it announced a major operation to oust separatists from the region
That's the step #1 of the process of the 'permanent' solution.
Step 2: Issue free land from this area to families of SLDF to for development of fishing... (I know this area. It's famous for good quality dried 'haalmasso'... also other dried fish... and close to Thambapanni which is good for tourism)
Step 3: Hunt down and DDT remaining (or running) LTTE Mafia dogs.
Fake homeland concept must blasted in such a huge way so that any future Mafia organization cannot even think of using it as a pretext to generate $$$$$... only to be deposited in secret numbered accounts in Swiss Banks.

Well let me see whats happening,
Last time when LTTE retaliate from the Madhu church area no INGO or NGO Nor media out cry the of the war ethics.
GOSL should need to take every possible action to make the devote rs feel comfortable for sure, but when dealing with a spineless mega maniac like VP we should all think 'humanity after the war' concept.
LTTE master minds always had the max out out Madhu festivel time 'plan their october offences with monssons'.
I am sure key board heros are uttery concern about the fact LRDPU has once again run over LTTE speacial commando camps.

All in a party mood here tonight :-) with SLA in some kind of an upswing and Eelam in a total fadeaway move.
Guess you guys share my wishes for a successful integration and recovery for the Tamil civilians.
Once some news will spread, that their daily life sees improvements the overall Tamil support for militant LTTE might slowly melt.
Any sort of rape and atrocities will be counterproductive for your troops and government at this critical moment.
Trouble is now, that eventually LTTE military can be finished, but this will create a lot of desperate, mental time bombs which can go as sick as Al Qaeda.
Black widows and stuff. One dude mentioned some 30.000 LTTE troops and it might be, that the war hasn't even started.
Simply wish, both sides will catch a curve to enable a constructive, peaceful solution. For my my feeling this should be handled a bit more sophisticated than some gang clash on a Southern beach.
Shame is, that VP does not allow anyone to come up with decent ideas to avoid further loss of Sri Lankan blood.

I have seen people have habit of slaying mud and disrepute the other political parties and use this free platform to voice their views.
They all do this for their personal gain.
War is a not any mean a solution for any ethnic conflicts and resolve politically.
Only the dinkies are proud of war victories.
