Don't mistake me- Jayasikurui soldiers were a bunch of marathon runners who just ran when attacked!
Today's SLA stays and fights!!
Mohammed123,
I don't agree with you this one...There were many reasons for that sad episode..
Those soldiers were a demoralised , having lost 2000 of their fellow soldiers after failed Jayaseekuru operation..Then came the LTTE advance towards south...The SLA had no option but to withdraw..
Just like LTTE fighters demoralised now, the SLA soldiers in the FDL's of Vauniya in 2000 were demoralised..
There were traitors within the SLA too at that time..

TributeSLA,
You are correct!!
LTTE actually left the East as soldiers will be taken from Jaffna to maintain it - in my thougt!!
sorry to disagree mate :)
LTTE never 'left' easy but were chased out after weeks of operations... loosing east was a huge blow to ltte in many ways and they never wanted it to happen... once they knew of certain defeat they made 'arrangements' to retreat from the area not by choice but 'circumstances' :)
i've seen lots of people talking about thinning out sldf troops by opening two fronts in north and east simultaneously... if this would've worked...ltte wouldn't have lost the east... sldf have changed their tactics..gone are the days where we launched massive operations with lots of PR and fancy name with lack of strategy... retaining land is no longer the theme...killing as many enemies as possible is... When northern front opens up... everyone will see the difference...especially with the way SLAF will approach the battle... |

However, LTTE may be planning to use all their caders to attack Jaffna.
Compared to annual military expenses worth at least $1.5 billion GOSL could hire each of the 30.000 cadres with $10.000 and still save loads of money.

Yes,
LTTE caders are not putting up a fight...They are withdrawing after seeing few casualities, unlike in the past when they turned themselves against SLA as suicide bombers..These LTTE fighters are fed up with the war..Tamil people in Vanni are sick of Velu's war..
He will never win this war..He tried 30 years and nothing is going for him now..
SLA should focus to illeminate Velu...
Most likely one LTTE cader will pull the trigger for all Sri Lankans...

I have neither been to Sinhalese Wedding too :(
Too late for an invitation since I am alredy married. Nevertheless an invitation could be expected from ML or JRJ. Sinhalese weddings are really beautiful no matter whether its' Kandyan style or Southern style. I wish both of you would experience it.

Mr Brown,
This is from another blog..I am just copying it..
If you think this is inappropriate..You can remove it...No problems...But please leave my account intact..
Although not relevant to this thread, here's an interesting article about the Mig deal and the UNP's stand on it.

As a life time UNPr, I am disappointed at the level the party's remnants have stooped to,for cheap political gain, and the increasingly lunatic behaviour of its pansy leader. What Ranil needs is a strong husband... |
