The real job will be handling militant insurgents and desperado extremists from both sides and to build a lasting infrastructure for the Sri Lankan Tamils

...a correction... for Sri lankan Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims, i.e. for whole Sri Lankan nation.

The only road to success and to reduce human losses is to win their hearts.

I think freedom... to some extent they have won it. On the other hand winning hearts of each and every person is not that easy due to surrounded by enemies!

Any incident like rape, looting etc. will be disastrous. But it is up to the officers to enforce discipline and a constructive attitude.

As far as I know, strict rules are implicated and stern actions are imposed upon such complains, and need to treat these cases exceptionally!

Sweetlady,

The wounds of this conflict are deep on both sides and will last for a long time, no doubt.

The Sri Lankan Tamils have the worst card with a leader, who hasn't made it in the political world like other former rebels such as Nelson Mandela or some ministers of the former German government.

As far as I know, strict rules are implicated and stern actions are imposed upon such complains, and need to treat these cases exceptionally!

To be honest, not only i am worried, to say the least, about the overall quality of investigation and prosecution all over SL. There are many brilliant police officers in SL, but also many dudes that are more like a disgrace to the human race.

obviously all Sri Lankans would benefit from intense humanitarian efforts in the Tamil areas beause that would reduce the seeds of terror.
